DiskDataStore-Cannot save page with id '0' because the
data file cannot be opened.
What can be causing these errors? is this more of a Tomcat thing or Wicket?

Hard to guess.
Get the pid of your Tomcat process and use lsof -p pid. You'll see
which files are opened by your Tomcat.
