Honestly, I've wondered about that myself. I find the Tomcat logs to be very confusing. I stopped the service, cleared the logs, switched to 7.3 M1, and started the service. Here is what I find. tomcat8-stdout.2015-10-26.log. Here are the errors in order found without stack trace:
