[xwiki-users] Headings in old WYSIWYG and some more questions

2008-11-25 Thread hel-o

Since 1.6 creating headings in the old WYSIWYG-Editor creats html-Headings

Heading 1 - h1Text/h1
Heading 2 - h2Text/h2

The result is that some functions (e.g. Toc macro) don't work anymore.

Is it planned to fix that? or is there no more development for the old
WYSIWYG?

The new looks great but has not the functionality of the old one (yet?)

Thanks

 I do need to upgrade in order to fix the upload image with space in the

It's 1.7M3 and not 1.7.3, meaning that 1.7 is not in stable state yet

[xwiki-users] Groovy using log4j output

2008-11-25 Thread Tronicek

Hi,

to automate group membership i wrote a Groovy script. It is called
periodically via scheduler.
This script use log4j to write some informations at info and at warning
level to the console and to a database table.

By now we are missing the output. It vanished since XWiki XE 1.6.
Can you tell me how to enable the output again, please?
Thanks.

A simple extract (snippet):

/* Groovy Class: $doc.fullName ([View Codegt;$doc.fullName?viewer=code]) #*
*/
import org.jboss.logging.Logger;
class UpdateGroupMembershipClass{
  def xwiki;
  def context;
  def doc;
  def log;  // Logger
  void setXWiki(xwiki)
  {

this.xwiki = xwiki;
this.context = this.xwiki.getXWikiContext();
this.doc = this.context.getDoc();
this.log = Logger.getLogger(our.organization.XWiki. +
this.doc.getFullName());
log.info(XWiki context initialized.);
  }
  /* other methods ... */
}

Re: [xwiki-users] JBossCacheCacheConfiguration Failed to load configuration file

2008-11-25 Thread Tronicek

Thanks,

we have limited logging again via jboss-log4j.xml. Limitation was disabled
to find out why we are missing log4j output of our Groovy class. I've
created an own question to this.

By now we started with XWiki XE 1.7 Milestone 1 and will upgrade to 1.7
final next.
Our department test it in virtual mode as knowledge base to different IT
issues.
Great job. Hope the WYSIWYG editor will behave more predictable.

Bye,
Rudolf

 According to the log you get, you have JBossCache enabled.

 We want to start our Wiki on JBoss Cluster using JBossCache...

 Hi,

 Which parameters are to be set or which files have to be modified/moved
 to
 prevent the following DEBUG and ERROR messages?

 No matter whether xwiki.cfg file has
 xwiki.cache.cachefactory.hint=jbosscache and
 xwiki.cache.cachefactory.local.hint=jbosscache/local as comment or not,
 there is a DEBUG message on console saying
 Failed to load configuration file xwiki.store.pagecache.
 There's a second DEBUG message saying Failed to load configuration file
 default.

 I realized this after deletion of log4j-1.2.13.jar in lib folder.

 The real problem seems to be that there is an error later with lucene:
 ERROR [com.xpn.xwiki.plugin.lucene.IndexUpdater] error indexing document
 xwiki:XWiki.420127.default.objects
 com.xpn.xwiki.XWikiException: Error number 3202 in 3: Exception while
 reading document XWiki.420127

 (The number is a XWiki username.)

 Logging is very high. It's showing a lot of debug and error messages
 relating caching.

 Thanks,
 Rudolf

The plan for 1.7 final is to have:

* image insertion/edition/removal (work just starting today)
* only view support for macros (no insertion/edition yet, that's for

 Ok, I have another idea. Did you try sending the mail without
 attachments ?

 This because what you pass the plugin API are XWikiAttachments
 (http://maven.xwiki.org/site/xwiki-core-parent/xwiki-core/apidocs/com/xpn/xwiki/doc/XWikiAttachment.html

 ),
 while it expects com.xpn.xwiki.api.Attachment (see the plugin API
 here
 http://code.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Plugins/MailSenderPlugin).
 If you want to have the proper wrapped attachments to pass the plugin,
 you should use newdoc.newDocument(context).getAttachmentList()

 Hope this helps,
 Jerome.

 Daniel Svoboda wrote:
 Thanks for the replies.

 I had already found that bug. If I take the conditional completely
 out
 of the class, it still doesn't send an email.

 Dan

 It is probably due to the following :

 if(newdoc.getSpace().substring(lastFour) == Blog) {

 in Java, if you have the following :

 String st1 = Blog;
 String st2 = new String(Blog);

 then st1 == st2 will always return false, as the objects are not the
 same. What you want is to compare their values, using
 st1.equals(st2),
 which will return true.
 You can read here to find out more
 http://www.unix.com.ua/orelly/java/langref/ch04_09.htm (especially
 this
 sentence : Because the == operator determines if two objects are
 the
 same object, it is not appropriate for comparisons that need to
 determine if two objects have the same contents. For example, if you
 need to know whether two String objects contain the same sequences
 of
 characters, the == operator is inappropriate. You should use the
 equals() method)

 Anyway, their is even simpler for you. What you want to do is
 check if
 the space name finishes by Blog. For this the appropriate method
 is
 String#endsWith
 (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/lang/String.html#endsWith(java.lang.String

 )
 )
 As in :

 if(newdoc.getSpace().endsWith(Blog)) {

 Hope this helps and fixes your issue,

 Jerome

Hello,

You should give your login / pass for the users who missed it !

I tried with a docx (the Microsoft Office 2007 default extension) :
Error number 4001 in 4: Error while parsing velocity page
Import.Importer Wrapped Exception: Failed to evaluate content with id
Importer

Then with the same document saved as .doc :

The result is quite nice. The organisation of the different elements is
respected :
- Titles are the same
- Images are resized like on my doc
- Table is ok

I have some problems with the encoding of some caracters : début
instead of début.
I have a pb on a Wordart image.

[xwiki-users] Pygments

2008-11-25 Thread Lewis Denizen
Hi xwiki-users,

I have a question (or more of a request) regarding the upcoming Pygments
support in XWiki 1.7. We currently use XWiki at work to keep an internal
documentation wiki for our application. We've created a few plugins which
we've used in the following fashion perfectly (XWiki 1.0 syntax):

{code:sql}
DECLARE myDate DATETIME

SELECT myDate = '$xwiki.dateParser.parseDate( -1b, MMdd )'  -- this
gives us the previous business date in MMdd format
...
{code}

Vincent kindly gave me a heads up regarding XWiki 1.7's Pygments support
(seems to be supported by running it under Jython - VERY exciting :-D). So,
I was wondering... Would something like the above be supported (i.e.
verbatim code, but allow velocity macros to be run inside the code block)?

If not, are there any documentation out there (other than the source code)
detailing steps to create an XWiki macro (found
http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Drafts/Tutorial+to+Write+a+Macro+in+the+new+rendering+enginewhich
does help a bit if viewed in the code viewer), so that maybe we can
build in support for something like that? Again, thanks for the great work!

[xwiki-users] Upgrading XWiki Enterprise From 1.2.2 to 1.6.1

2008-11-25 Thread Chad Gorshing

Greetings-

I am need to upgrade an installation of XWiki from 1.2.2 to the latest
(currently 1.6.1) and I am trying to put together an attack plan. Should I
attempt an upgrade all the way to 1.6.1 in one fell swoop or should I upgrade
to 1.3.2 - 1.4.1 ...etc. Do I need to upgrade the XAR for every release or
just once?

I am using hsqldb as my database, but after getting everything upgraded
correctly, I will be moving the database to MySQL.

I have searched the archives but I haven't found anything more recent and also
dealing with wide range of upgrading I need to do.

You should go directly to 1.6.1. Only the most recent XAR must be
imported, but take care not to override important things (groups, users,
the main page).

 Can you tell me how to enable the output again, please?
 Thanks.

 A simple extract (snippet):

 /* Groovy Class: $doc.fullName ([View Codegt;$doc.fullName?viewer=code]) #*

 import org.jboss.logging.Logger;
 class UpdateGroupMembershipClass{
   def xwiki;
   def context;

 this.xwiki = xwiki;
 this.context = this.xwiki.getXWikiContext();
 this.doc = this.context.getDoc();
 this.log = Logger.getLogger(our.organization.XWiki. +
 this.doc.getFullName());
 log.info(XWiki context initialized.);
   }
   /* other methods ... */
 }
 /* *# */

I guess this is a logger configuration setting (it doesn't print info
messages). You could either configure the logging system to print them,
or increase the importance of the message (log.error(XWiki context
initialized);)

Re: [xwiki-users] Upgrading XWiki Enterprise From 1.2.2 to 1.6.1

2008-11-25 Thread BSayatovic
I recently upgraded from a 1.1 milestone to 1.6.0 in one fell swoop.

I did an export from my old installation, installed the new version in a
separate location, tweaked the out-of-the-box config (I kept notes on what
I customized last time so I could re-do it) and then did a selective
import.

I did have some troubles. My exported XAR was huge and the 1.6.0 VM kept
running out of heap on import. I ended up excluding history (*sniff*) and
also manually deleting unwanted items from the XAR, as well as increasing
the heap size.

But in the end, it worked!

Regards,
Brian.

 Guillaume,

 I can see some other problems:
 * title is not correct

Did you mean the title content (spellings?) or the font size of the title?
If it's the latter, it's because openoffice server in this case has used
font size=/font for sizing, and this is filtered in the strict
filtering mode.

I'm pretty sure you didn't mean the latter one, if so please explain what's
exactly wrong :)

* lots of empty lines

Good point.

If any of you have some free time (which excludes vincent ;)) please try
this :

Open a new text document in openoffice and:

1. Type one line of text.

2. Press enter twice and type another line of text.

So you'd have something like :

 Hi, This is the first line

And this is the second line

3. Save the document as *html*.

4. Open the document in firefox and see the result.

The same thing happens when converting documents via openoffice server. The
problem is, for each empty line in a word document, open office uses :

p style=margin-bottom: 0inbr//p

For spacing. And this is obviously not correct. May be I should take this to
openoffice guys ?

Vincent, if you remember, I tried to replace these empty paragraphs with
br/ elements. But I didn't mention this to you at that time. I simply
didn't like these empty paragraphs ;)

Thanks.

enter, thinking you are starting a paragraph. But this is not rendered
properly in browsers.

but this time the link is converted just fine...

This link looks perfectly fine. We need to find out how those weird links
came in on that previous doc.

Thanks.

Re: [xwiki-users] Office-Importer Test Server.

2008-11-25 Thread Asiri Rathnayake
Hi Thomas,

Thank you for testing office-importer :)

 Hello,

 You should give your login / pass for the users who missed it !

Sorry, I missed this. It's mentioned in
http://91.121.237.216/xwiki/bin/view/Main/ but here goes agian :

user: asiri

password: asiri

I tried with a docx (the Microsoft Office 2007 default extension) :
 Error number 4001 in 4: Error while parsing velocity page
 Import.Importer Wrapped Exception: Failed to evaluate content with id
 Importer

Ok, I'm bit lazy with the error reporting but I'll look into soon. Anyway,
the issue is that docx format is not supported by openoffice server yet :(

 Then with the same document saved as .doc :
 http://91.121.237.216/xwiki/bin/view/Main/TestThomas

 The result is quite nice. The organisation of the different elements is
 respected :
 - Titles are the same
 - Images are resized like on my doc
 - Table is ok

 I have some problems with the encoding of some caracters : dÃ(c)but
 instead of début.

Yeah, there seems to be a problem, can you attach the original document ? :)

I have a pb on a Wordart image.

Hmm, this problem occurs here and there and seems to be a problem of
openoffice server. I will dog into openoffice server configuration options
to see if I can find a fix for it. Otherwise I'll report this to openoffice
guys.

Thanks.

- Asiri

Re: [xwiki-users] Pygments

2008-11-25 Thread Jerome Velociter
Lewis Denizen wrote:
 Hi xwiki-users,

 I have a question (or more of a request) regarding the upcoming Pygments
 support in XWiki 1.7. We currently use XWiki at work to keep an internal
 documentation wiki for our application. We've created a few plugins which
 we've used in the following fashion perfectly (XWiki 1.0 syntax):

 {code:sql}
 DECLARE myDate DATETIME

 SELECT myDate = '$xwiki.dateParser.parseDate( -1b, MMdd )'  -- this
 gives us the previous business date in MMdd format
 ...
 {code}

 If not, are there any documentation out there (other than the source code)
 detailing steps to create an XWiki macro (found
 http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Drafts/Tutorial+to+Write+a+Macro+in+the+new+rendering+enginewhich
 does help a bit if viewed in the code viewer),

This draft
http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Drafts/Tutorial+to+Write+a+Macro+in+the+new+rendering+engine

is actually written for XWiki Syntax 2.0, but the version on XWiki.org
does not support it yet.
You can copy its code (from the code viewer) to a page in syntax 2.0 to
see it more comfortable.

Jerome.

  so that maybe we can
 build in support for something like that? Again, thanks for the great work!
