Re: [xwiki-users] How to list the subspace under the space?

Hi,

 Hi All,

  Currently i am working in xwiki and facing some issues which i am not able
 to solve. I want to create a tree structure for the space and subspace and
 the pages inside it.

  Eg : I am creating

   Space Name : HelloMajor, Parent : nothing (by default it takes WebHome)
   Page Name   : HelloMajorPage1   : Parent : HelloMajor
   Page Name   : HelloMajorPage2   : Parent : HelloMajorPage1

   If i use document tree its displaying like

HelloMajor
 |___ HelloMajorPage1
  |HelloMajorPage2

   Another space creation : HelloMinor; Parent : HelloMajor.WebHome
   Page Name : HelloMinorPage Parent : HelloMinor
   Now i want to display the tree structure like this

 HelloMajor
 |___ HelloMajorPage1
 ||HelloMajorPage2
 |___HelloMinorPage
 |HelloMinorPage

 I want to display the subspace under the related space itself. I tried with
 child parent snippets but it didnt worked. As i explored i didnt get the
 solution to get the parent of the subspace. Normally in db its storing
 under
 XWD_Parent field in xwiki_doc table. I would like to give the subspace name
 as parameter so that i can get the parent name which i mean is
 HelloMajor.WebHome.

 My requirement is to build a tree structure. I tried with space explorer,mk
 tree, document tree and spaceAllDocs. No one fitting my requirement.

  *Spacename
 * Subspacename
* subspacepages
 * SpacePages

At this time XWiki doesn't support nested spaces. However you can achieve
this:

* Space
   * Page
  * SubPage

Guillaume

In this manner i want to display. IS there any solution.

 Kindly help me.

 Thanks in advance.

 Nithya.Vembu.

[xwiki-users] Formula Macro - native renderer issue

2010-05-25 Thread Marine Julian

Hello everybody,

Does the Formula Macro always support the native renderer ?
Indeed, I tried to use it with an other configuration (the third one !!!) :
Debian, TexLive, ImageMagick, XEM 2.3. But I had again the same error...
Here it is :
ERROR formula.FormulaMacro - Invalid renderer: [native]. Falling back to the
safe renderer.
org.xwiki.component.manager.ComponentLookupException: Failed to render
formula using [native] renderer
 at
org.xwiki.rendering.internal.macro.formula.FormulaMacro.render(FormulaMacro.java:162)
 ... etc

Besides, is there a way to redefine the safe renderer ? I would like it to
be googlecharts method. The snuggletex method is too limited...

[xwiki-users] Migration from 1.4 to 2.3

2010-05-25 Thread Lee Chalupa

I have a wiki farm I want to upgrade to the curreent release.

I've searched the forum. I've read the applicable release notes.

I'm not able to find any info on whether migration is supported from a
version 1.X to 2.X.

Can I move straight from 1.4 to 2.3 or do I need to apply some intermediate
steps?

The one area that confuses me with Xwiki is the relationships between the
wiki manager
and the enterprise wiki. I'm missing the big picture. What dependencies
exist between the enterprise
version and the wiki manager?

Yes, in fact the automatic migrator act step by step so that does not
change anything except that doing only one migration takes a lot less
time ;)

As usual the issue you can have is mostly if you modified standard pages.

There is also probably some important changes that could impact
applications you would have wrote yourself:
- the most important one is the new xwiki/2.0 syntax which is the
default syntax now so when you create a page programmatically you have
to take care of setting the proper syntax, note that you can change
configuration to have xwiki/1.0 syntax by default until you did all
needed migrations
- you can now set a velocity variable to null, see
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/ReleaseNotesXWikiEnterprise22
- there is also some changes in document references for them to
support technical characters like '.' and ':' but if you don't use
any of them that should not change anything for you

All basic wiki pages should behave the same as in 1.4.

And other things you should take a look at the release notes of each
first stable version of each branch (1.5, 1.6, ...) since 1.4 and
specifically to the section Backward Compatibility and Migration
Notes.

 The one area that confuses me with Xwiki is the relationships between the
 wiki manager
 and the enterprise wiki.  I'm missing the big picture.  What dependencies
 exist between the enterprise
 version and the wiki manager?

XWiki Enterprise Manager is just a pre-configured XWiki Enterprise in
multiwiki (virtual) mode and with some UI to create/delete wikis (it's
really only UI, the real multiwiki support is in the platform). Since
2.0 the version is synchronized so XEM 2.x is exactly XE 2.x with some
pages added as well as two wiki management UI related plugins.

 So it is impossible to access at the feature at all, and also Ctrl+m has no

This is because the javascript and style (CSS) that enable the
annotations need to be saved with programming rights
(AnnotationCode.Style, AnnotationCode.Script, AnnotationCode.Settings).
In order to do that, just login with a user with programming rights, go
to those documents, edit and save with no changes.

Normally, they are imported with XWiki.Admin as an author but local
XWiki.Admins don't have programming rights in 'subwikis'.

Have fun,
Anca

Re: [xwiki-users] Help setting up XWiki in Tomcat container with MySQL on Windows

You must also add the connector jar in WEB-INF/lib:

http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/mysql/mysql-connector-java/5.1.12/

Attachments are not allowed on the list.

Thanks for pointing this out. With all the configuration I had to do setting
this up, it was easy to forget that step ;-)

I'll remember to post errors in the email body next time too.

Thanks,

[xwiki-users] Help using m2eclipse to create an Xwiki java Macro

2010-05-25 Thread James Cuzella
I'm hoping to create a simple Xwiki macro to allow users an easy way
to create local file:// links to internal network shares through the
WYSIWYG macros feature. This is also an excuse for me to try to get
m2eclipse to work for building Xwiki as well. However, so far the
plugin doesn't seem to be working right.

I'm generally following the guide here:
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/DevGuide/RenderingMacroTutorial#HCreatingaMacrousingMaven

I first attempted at using Eclipse's m2eclipse plugin to create a new
maven project, but had some troubles with this. I first added a maven
archetypes catalog through the Window-Preferences-Maven-Archetypes
menu. I added a remote catalog using the url
http://svn.xwiki.org/svnroot/xwiki/platform/xwiki-tools/trunk/xwiki-archetype-macro/;.

Then, by going through the new maven project wizard, I checked the
include snapshot archetypes box and the xwiki-archetype-macro shows
up. I then fill out the input boxes, for example something like:

Group ID: com.lyraphase
Artifact ID: localFileLinkMacro
Version: 0.0.1-SNAPSHOT
Package: com.lyraphase

I click finish and it simply says Failed to create project. The
event details for the error in the log are:

eclipse.buildId=unknown
java.version=1.6.0_20
java.vendor=Sun Microsystems Inc.
BootLoader constants: OS=win32, ARCH=x86, WS=win32, NL=en_US
Framework arguments:  -product org.eclipse.epp.package.php.product
Command-line arguments:  -os win32 -ws win32 -arch x86 -product
org.eclipse.epp.package.php.product

I then gave up on that, and just made a new directory and ran the
maven command line mentioned in the Macro Tutorial through Cygwin. I
entered the Group ID, etc...
The command seemed to work, however again m2eclipse chokes on missing
maven dependencies after doing a Import - Existing Maven Project.
The console log in Eclipse also shows *tons* of warnings about
checksums failing and some missing pom files. For example:

5/25/10 6:02:18 PM MDT: [WARN] *** CHECKSUM FAILED - Checksum failed
on download: local = 'f4993fe96db30ae57ca4d71e34ebe200b63981b6';

remote = '79231f9f429a3ba10c5d260b4e683fe7599498d0' - IGNORING

Most of that stuff is uninteresting, but I snipped out some of the
more interesting messages I found within the mess.

2010-05-25 Thread Lee Chalupa

Thanks for your reply Thomas.

I pulled the switch.

Everything with the update went fine except for one item. I wonder if you
might know what is causing text to appear on the screen at the top when I
log and and request a page. Here is what displays:

$xwiki.jsfx.use('js/scriptaculous/effects.js', true)
$xwiki.jsfx.use('js/xwiki/widgets/modalPopup.js', true)
$xwiki.ssfx.use('js/xwiki/widgets/modalPopup.css', true)
$xwiki.jsfx.use('js/xwiki/widgets/jumpToPage.js', true)
$xwiki.ssfx.use('js/xwiki/widgets/jumpToPage.css', true)
$xwiki.jsfx.use('uicomponents/widgets/confirmationBox.js', true)
$xwiki.ssfx.use('uicomponents/widgets/confirmationBox.css', true)
$xwiki.jsfx.use('uicomponents/widgets/confirmedAjaxRequest.js', true)
$xwiki.jsfx.use('uicomponents/widgets/notification.js', true)
$xwiki.ssfx.use('uicomponents/widgets/notification.css', true)

I have a much better understanding of what I needed to do. I'm going to
write up a procedure and forward it. Maybe I can save somebody some time.

Thanks again.

You need to enable some new plugins in xwiki.cfg. You should compare the
xwiki.cfg that comes with a standalone XE with the one you have and
merge the two files.

 write up a procedure and forward it. Maybe I can save somebody some time.
