[xwiki-users] user name with stressed characters is encoded as XML entity

2010-08-05 Thread Andrea Belli
Hi,
  I have user name with stressed character as è, é, à.. .
  I noticed that when they publish a post on the blog application, the
associated rss feed contains the dc-creator tag with XML encoded entities in
this way:

dc:creatorJulian Denamp;#224;/dc:creator

Is there a way to modify this behavior (many rss viewers do not parse the
entities L )?

A similar thing happens when I export a PDF document: the author of the page is
correct on the HTML page of the wiki document (on the HTML script I have

Last modified by span class=wikilinka
href=/wiki/bin/view/XWiki/denaJulian Denà/a/span
)

but on the PDF document I've the XML encoded entity.

Thank you in advance for your help.
Best Regars,
Andrea

[xwiki-users] How to turn off RSS feed and Tags?

2010-08-05 Thread Aleks87

How can I turn RSS feed and Tag Application off.
I dont want to see the Tag button on the botton of a page and the TAGS line
in the Document Informations Panel while editing a page.

How this would effect on Livetable. Cause I use:

#set($options = { topFilters:'input type=hidden size=${colprop.size}
name=doc.space value=Platform-KnowHow /',

to show all Docs in the Platform-KnowHow Space.

Thank you for helping me!

What is your database? Are you using Mysql?
It could be an office import problem (which I wouldn't know much about)
it also might be a database limitation.

Re: [xwiki-users] Colibri CSS for IE (6, 7, 8 ...)

2010-08-05 Thread Ecaterina Valica
IE special files are:
ie-6.css and ie-all.css

 Hi,

 The strange thing is that globallinks selector is used as a class in the
 colibri skin (not as an identifier), so you would use .globallinks instead
 of #globallinks (and it is the same with the 2 globalsearch selectors).

 Concerning the difference between IE and Firefox, it seems that the colibri
 skin has special CSS files for IE. May be they override your definitions.

 Hope this help.

 2010/8/3 Ramon Gomes Brandão - SERINT ramon.bran...@tjdft.jus.br

  Hi,

  I've created a Skin based on colibri and set I as my default skin. I've
  overwritten some css definitions of colibri.css due to my header logo (
 I've
  shifted and resized the search box). I've added this definitions on a new
  attribute (myStyle.css) on XWikiSkin object and added it on the style.css
  attribute, as well as microformats.css and colibri.css. My modifications
  are:

  #companylogo a img {

   float: left;

   margin:0 0 0 -4px;

  }

  #globallinks {

   float:right;

   padding:5px 67px 5px 0px;

   width:130px;

  }

  #globalsearch {

   text-align:right;

   width:190px;

  }

  #globalsearchinput {

   min-height:16px;

   width:150px;

  }

  It works well on Firefox, but in IE neither of my modifications seems to
  work, and the search box goes below the header logo, on a new line. Where
 I
  can change CSS definitions as above for IE's?

Re: [xwiki-users] XE 2.4 - Cannot import Chinese doc properly

2010-08-05 Thread Caleb James DeLisle
It's not a problem of the encoding, it's a limitation of mysql.
http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?39,27011
You can either switch to a better database, I recommend postgres if you are not
using sub-wikis (aka wiki farm)

Or you can try using a hack which sometimes helps.
If you tell the database that it's using latin1 then it will be tricked into
accepting
UTF-8, this isn't good though and might cause other problems.

the database is in utf-8 encoding. There are already a lot of Chinese pages
in the database.

Caleb, thanks for your information. I may give it a try.

[xwiki-users] Allow normal users to modify page access rights

2010-08-05 Thread Ramon Gomes Brandão - SERINT
Hi Sergiu,

So, there are two options:
- tell users that they can edit page rights if they switch to advanced
- change menuview.vm so that the advanced user check is omitted

I've choosen the second option, because I want to make it transparent for the
user. I've cut out, in templates/menuview.vm, the advanced user check. But the
modifications have not worked. I've also changed the order of the edit menu
options, to test, and they were not reflected on the edit menu.

It seems that it's looking on some other vm file, or other overriding
configuration. I've also changed skin/colibri/editmenu.vm, but no success.
There's other menuview.vm on skins/colibri/menuview.vm, but on it there's no
velocity code for the edit menu.

I've refreshed the browser, cleaned the cache, but nothing. How can I succeed
on it?

Regards,
Ramon Gomes Brandão

 Hi,

 I want to give all users the ability to change Access Rights on the pages
 they create. I've noticed that only admin group has this ability.

 When a user creates a page, I would like that Access Rights appear on the
 Editor drop down menu. This page access classification by the author is
 nothing but essential on my

 Xwiki instance at my corp.

 How can I do that?

Any user that can edit a page can also edit the rights for that page.

There are two kinds of users, advanced and simple users. This is set
from the user's profile. For more details, see
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/Features/PageEditing#HSimpleandAdvancededitingmodes

Simple users have a simple edit menu, with just one entry, the default
edit mode for a document. Advanced users see the full edit menu. So,
it's not that only administrators can edit page rights, but that
administrators are by default advanced users.

So, there are two options:
- tell users that they can edit page rights if they switch to advanced
- change menuview.vm so that the advanced user check is omitted
