After upgrading from 4.4.1 to 7.1.1 it seems that something gets messed

As far as I can see, the stacktrace you paster at the top has nothing to do
with the code you pasted at the bottom.
The stacktrace:

Maybe it's related to http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-12246 then.

You were right again. When I uninstalling *.xar it showed me that it was
installed with errors. After install
"org.xwiki.platform:xwiki-platform-index-ui" through Advanced Search, all
works fine.
