[xwiki-users] Page - Information - Children; Display issue on 7.3

2015-12-07 Thread TuPhat
I have a question on a Children section in the page information section.

I was running on older version of xwiki (3.3) and installed a new version
(7.3). While looking through the new version, I noticed a difference in the
children section of the page information.

In the new version, whenever I add a page, it would display two lines, the
page name and a header line. See example pictures below.

http://i.imgur.com/4bPORus.png

I'm not sure if this is by design, or something is wrong with my install.

When I create a new page and set the terminal flag, the page shows correctly
in the children section without a header line (or it has the same header as
my old pages).

Another example in my production xwiki.

http://i.imgur.com/JQeVbuV.png

In the above example, when I create a page, it inserts a header line into
the children section for each page. If I create a page with the terminal
flag set, it doesn't create a second header line.

Indeed, we’re lacking automated testing against Oracle (although there are
members of this community doing manual tests on Oracle at each final release
AFAIK).

Would you be willing to help out by:
* Performing manual tests on Oracle when we release milestones so that we can
be sure to have a final version working on Oracle
* Write and work on our automated tests/builds to ensure that all existing
XWiki tests are executed on Oracle?

Thanks

No idea. It depends if some contributors/committers provide a patch for it.

At this point in time, nobody has assigned the issue to himself as you can see
in the jira issue. It’s also an improvement and not a critical bug that
prevents XWiki from running and developers usually try to focus on important
bugs first (I’m not saying that the issue is not important! But it needs to be
put in perspective of all the other open issues that exist).

What I can tell you is that the general roadmap for 7.4 is defined here:
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Roadmaps/

If you could provide a good patch with tests it would sure speed up the
implementation of it.

Thanks

Re: [xwiki-users] tagcloud macro not displaying tags from nested pages

2015-12-07 Thread Miroslav Galajda
Hi, thank you for your quick response.
Yes, the development workflow is logical.
I just wanted to know if I could somehow get to the resolution of that
issue. Because currently dashboard pages with tag cloud provide
non-intuitive and non-consistent navigation.

Re: [xwiki-users] Task Manager Application - CLOB problem on Oracle

2015-12-07 Thread Miroslav Galajda
Hi,

in the roadmap for 7.4 release I can see, there is Task Manager included.

Will you consider this issue to be a part of the release? Should I create
an issue for it?

Generally, I am repeatedly encountering problems with Oracle compatibility.
You should improve the quality of DB tests against Oracle databases.

Thank you

Mirec

So yes it’ll be fixed at some point. I/We just can’t guarantee you when.

Thanks

PS: BTW if you use this for some business and you need guaranteed fix time, you
could buy some professional service, see
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Support#HProfessionalSupport. I don’t
know if this applies to you or not though. Just want to highlight the option.
