[xwiki-users] special characters in group-name, bug?

2014-03-02 Thread Michiel Hobbelman
When using group name A B it is impossible to set permissions in the
WebPreferences.

Xwiki version 5.4.1.
Is this a bug?

( maybe related to http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-5448 ?)

Michiel

Re: [xwiki-users] Upgrade trouble (4.0 to 5.4.1)

2014-02-25 Thread Michiel Hobbelman
I ran into the same problem with the activity stream. This issue is known
and being discussed in the dev-list. The problem is after running the
Distribution-wizzard within a sub-wiki as a sub-wiki-admin. When you run
the distribution-wizzard as user X you basically edit several pages (like
Main/Activity) which are then Last edited by X. The problem is that X in
this case a regular sub-wiki administrator lacks the (holy grail)
programming right, so scripts in pages like Main/Activity are kind of
blocked now.

This can be fixed by changing the last author of the page Main/Activity to
a real Administrator (having those rights). That is the administrator of
the parent-wiki. So I just edited + saved that page and now it works again.

This same problem occurs on other Main pages as well, it would be nice to
have a list of those so I can apply the same fix everywhere.

 3) In the Administration: Extension Manager section, the fourth image (from
the Extension Updater) is missing. I can see the first three images, but
 the
 last image show a icon.png with a black/white cross.

  Hi Michiel,

Maybe you have the same problem, and want to add many user-accounts in

The script can produce a XAR archive that can be uploaded using the
   import-function in the Admin panel.
After doing so you still need to add these users to the group

Thanks for your contribution! However I am afraid if you attached the
script, the mailing list software has just eaten the attachment.

If you want you can upload the script at
 http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome

Strictly speaking it is not an extension, but never mind: all kind of
XWiki related helpers are always welcome there. :)

Yes you can contribute the script as a snippet there or package it as a
 XAR, as you wish.

 Thanks
