Re: [xwiki-users] Menu crashes if changed by a non admin user (see menu application extension)

2016-07-27 Thread Alina Kupgisch

Hi Marius,

that works and was easy to realize, thanks! And thanks for your
description as well. I now understand why this is happening.

Vincent also wrote that this behavior is quite normal, but it could be a
bit more user friendly...in my opinion. It would be nice if normal users
where not permitted to edit the page or if they get a warning that the
page will be saved with wrong permissions.

This behavior is normal. The menu has a property named "Menu Visibility
Scope" with 3 possible values. The "Current Wiki" value requires the menu
to be saved by someone that has wiki administration rights, because the
menu is visible everywhere on the wiki. You don't want a simple user to add
a new menu that is visible for everyone.

You may want to try the following:

* put the content of the menu page in a separate page
* give edit rights for this separate page to the simple users that are
allowed to modify the menu
* use the include macro to include the separate page in the menu page. Do
this with someone that has administration rights so that the menu page is
saved with the proper rights.

Hope this helps,
Marius

AFAIR, the AutoCompletion extension installs some REST services (for the
autocompletion, obviously) and at some point that required a rest module
reinitialization.

Hope this helps,

[xwiki-users] White spaces around images in exported pdfs

2016-07-21 Thread Alina Kupgisch

Hi xwiki team,

i get big white spaces around my images in the exported pdfs, after
making the images smaller on our wiki pages.

I tried changing the margin, padding, and the border size of the images
in the css (used for the pdf export) but that didn't change anything.
The background of the image in the exported pdf is bigger than the image
itself (i changed the background color for evaluation).

Disclaimer: the “numbered headings” macro is not supported by the XWiki dev
team; it’s a contribution.

FYI the “numbered headings” macro from
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Numbered+Headings just
adds CSS to the pages where it’s used (see
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Numbered+Headings#HImplementation).

Now the reason why you don’t see it applied to the PDF export is because of a
current limitation: SSX objects are not applied during PDF exports see
https://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-13071

So the current workaround you have is to customize the CSS used for the PDF
export and use some similar CSS than the one used in that macro:
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/Configuration#HCustomizingthePDFexportLook26Feel

Thanks
-Vincent

PS: Note to self and to xwiki devs: It would be great to have some simple to
read tutorial on customizing the PDF export.

Thanks and best regards

[xwiki-users] Xwiki sometimes shows deleted or old images

2016-06-08 Thread Alina Kupgisch

Hi xwiki team,

sometimes (i can't reproduce it properly) images that where deleted from
the appendix and in all links of the page, where displayed after saving
the page and also exported to the pdf. The same thing also happens quite
often when i try to exchange an image.

I have found out one way to reproduce it:

1. Create a new page
2. Upload an image called "test.png"
3. Press "save and show"
4. Delete the image in the appendix
5. Edit page
6. Delete the link of deleted image
7. Press "save and show" -> no image will be displayed
8. Edit page again
9. Upload another image that is named as the one before ("test.png") ->
the old image will be displayed

So this might be a cache problem.

Best regards
Alina

[xwiki-users] Missing border and background color of "code" macro in exported pdf

2016-05-04 Thread Alina Kupgisch

Hi,

i use the macro "code" to highlight code blocks in the text. On export
(e.g. as pdf) only the text is colored and has another font, but there
is no border or background color, like in the web view. The text before
and after the code block is also not quite nice styled. It is indented
wich is not good for reading.

How can i change the style of the code blok and surrounding text in the
exported document?
