[xwiki-users] Links to pages in 1.0 syntax don't look good

2010-10-15 Thread Antonio Goncalves
Hi all,

Our XWiki instance has been upgraded to a 2.0. We are still using 1.0 syntax
and we can see some strange behaviour.

If you look at this page http://www.parisjug.org/xwiki/bin/view/Speaker/ all
the titles (the name of the speakers) look ok. But if you click to a
specific speaker (
http://www.parisjug.org/xwiki/bin/view/Speaker/MagninLaurent), you can see
that the title is [Laurent MagninSpeaker.MagninLaurent] instead of just
Laurent Magnin. This doesn't happen to all the pages (ex.
http://www.parisjug.org/xwiki/bin/view/Speaker/MartignoleNicolas).

All these pages are in XWiki syntaxe 1.0 and all have the same syntax :

1 [Laurent MagninSpeaker.MagninLaurent]

Do you know what that could be ?

Thanks,
Antonio

I followed your advice and turned the 1.0 page into a 2.0. Automatically the
page was translated and it works fine. Great. Well, I think I'll use the 2.0
syntax then.

That looks like a bug, would be great if you could create an issue on
  http://jira.xwiki.org.

Thanks for catching it, i will look at that.

As a workaround (while waiting for Thomas findings) you could convert to
2.0 syntax (it's automatic but you need to clean up the automatic
 conversion).

Note that 1.0 syntax has been deprecated for more than a year now and will
disappear at some point in some future release so you should think about
migrating your content to 2.0 syntax.

Re: [xwiki-users] Page redirecting automatically to XWikiPreferences

Thanks for the tips Vincent, very much appreciated. It's working now, good.
We'll add the $context.setCacheDuration(durationinseconds) for the cache.
Is there a default value BTW ? What would be an appropriate value ?

I'm not sure what happened. I modified the page to exclude
WebPreferences and it worked. Note that it worked even without
excluding it too. Apparently just resaving the page made it work.
Since this page does an include in context from other pages it's
possible one of these other pages was doing something strange.

BTW might be good to use the rendering cache to ensure this page loads
 quickly.

 $context.setCacheDuration(durationinseconds)

One problem I have noticed on our wiki:
 on http://www.parisjug.org/xwiki/bin/edit/Speaker/WebHome?
editor=rights some panels on the right do not execute properly.

This is probably due to the fact that you must have migrated the
panels to a more recent version of XE that is installed in your farm.

  - use a recent version of the macros.vm file, which contains the

Could you explain how you've done the last XAR upgrade?

Can you try reimporting the Panels application that corresponds to you
wiki version (you're on XEM 1.4.1 which means XE 1.6.2) ?
I could do it but I don't know if you've changed any panels page so
I'll let you do it instead.

 Thanks

Yes Vincent, you can check by yourself on the Paris JUG website. I can't see
any logs, I've tried with 3 different browsers but I've found a strange
work around.
When I am on the
http://www.parisjug.org/xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences page and that
I click on Panel Wizard, nothing happens. But I can access the wizard from
the page http://www.parisjug.org/xwiki/bin/view/XWiki/.

Do you have any idea ?

But this doesn't work. I'm hosted on a XWiki 1.1.1 (but I think that's XEM).

think it could be someone who spammed my comments.

Both are java.lang.Long. But the pb doesn't come from the if statement. I
use a sortable table. And depending on the way I sort it (by clicking on the
header), I have completly random behavior (sometimes I have 3 red lines,
sometimes 6... weird)

table id=todoTable class=grid sortable filterable doOddEven
cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 border=0
  tr class=sortHeader
thN°/th
thTitre/th
thDescription/th
thAssignee/th
thDate/th
thStatus/th
  /tr
#set ($i=0)
#set ($today = $xwiki.currentDate.time)

#foreach ($todo in $todos)
#set ($todoDoc = $xwiki.getDocument($todo))
#set ($todoObj = $todoDoc.getObject(XWiki.TodoClass))
#set ($i = $i + 1)
#if ($todoObj.getProperty(TargetDate).value.time  $today)
  tr style=color:White;background-color:Red;

 $xwiki.formatDate($todoObj.getProperty(TargetDate).value, yymmdd)

$todoObj.TargetDate formats the date into a string.
$todoObj.getProperty(TargetDate).value is the actual value of the
property, which is a Date for date properties.

Looking at the API this should work no ?

 no :)

This javadoc is about the XWiki Java API. The string you're using for
the query is not calling Java code. It's just a HQL string for doing
 query.

Ok. I really thought both things were related. I though doc was just an
instance of the Document class.

 2) the code ** $item br/* just gives me the title of the page,
 and what
if I want to include the entire content of each page. How can I do
 that ?

Check the javadoc for the Document object.

You'll get the Document object like this: $xwiki.getDocument($item)

Note that there are lots of code snippets that should provide examples
on this in code.xwiki.org, in the snippets area. Let us know where
you'd have expected help on this in xwiki.org so that we can fix it.

One thing that really would help is to be able to search for code. If you go
to code.xwiki.org and search for the string getDocument no result is
found.

ah that's because the skin is called in the context of the current page.

XWiki.XWikiSkins class to it and overrode some .vm files. I just don't know
how to refer to the attached image ? I've tried several things :

#set($logo = $!attachmentpage.getAttachment(myfile.jpg))
#set($logo = $!doc.getAttachment(myfile.jpg))
#set($logo = $!prefdoc.getAttachment(myfile.jpg))

Even some
#set($logourl = $prefdoc.getAttachmentURL($logo.filename,download))

But when I use the img tag I have an empty src attribute
img src=$!logourl alt=XWiki/
img src=$!logo alt=XWiki/

Do you know what I am doing wrong ?

Thanks,
Antonio

2008-02-17 Thread Antonio Goncalves
Hi Sergiu,

I have exactly the same problem with Tomcat 5.5.26 (I'm using XWiki 1.2.2).
Should I wait for a bug fix from XWiki or should I use a previous version of
Tomcat (if yes, which one) ?

Thanks,

Antonio

I'm looking into the problem now.

 Probably in
 com.xpn.xwiki.user.impl.xwiki.MyPersistentLoginManager#setupCookie
(you have to recompile the code and update that class into the XWiki
 installation)

Too bad tomcat doesn't have an option to configure this.

Re: [xwiki-users] Import of XAR: Java Heap Space Out Of Memory Exception in 1.2

Ok, I've found the problem. Nothing to do with XWiki or MySQL, the heap of
Tomcat was too low. I've increased the -Xmx and it works fine.

2008/2/16, Antonio Goncalves [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

 Hi everybody,

I'm bringing this issue back but it still doesn't work. This is what I'm
 doing :

I'm starting everything from scratch : new database completly empty and a
 fresh XWiki 1.2.2.7518 on a fresh Tomcat 5.5.26 and a 5.0.41 MySQL (with a
5.1.5 driver). Just after installing XWiki, I try to import my 6Mb xar
file that I've exported from a XWiki 1.0. I select my file, click on
Upload and I end up with a Java Heap Space Out Of Memory Exception without
any stack trace. Notice that it breaks even before showing the page allowing
 me to select the file.

Here is how I've checked that MySQL could handle 6Mb : SHOW SESSION
VARIABLES like max_allowed_packet'; and SHOW GLOBAL VARIABLES like
 'max_allowed_packet'; Both results are 16Mb (max_allowed_packet =
16776192). I don't know how to get the value max_upload_size from
XWiki.Preferences but following what Vincent said and
http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XE-145 it should be set to 32Mb. In
terms of size (MySQL and XWiki) it looks like it can handle 6Mb.

I have several archives. So I've tried with a 2.2Mb xar file. It also
breaks but the behaviour is different. After clicking on upload, XWiki shows
me the page allowing me to choose from a file (this page doesn't even appear
with the 6Mb file). But then it breaks with a more explicit stack trace (as
 follow).

 Any idea ?
 Antonio

There are 2 places where to make changes when you want to import a large
 XAR:
 1) the mysql config as you said,
 2) the XWikiPreferences object. Before 1.2 it had a max of 1MB if I recall
correctly. In 1.2 we've upgraded it to 30MB I believe. However if you're
using your old XWikiPreferences object then you'll have th max_upload_size
 set to the old value.

 See http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XE-145

Now regarding lucene I don't understand why this the import has anything
to do with lucene but there's probably something I don't know here...

Try changing the max file upload parameter in your xwikipreferences and
 try the upload again.

[xwiki-users] XEM RoadMap

2008-01-03 Thread Antonio Goncalves
Hi,

I would like to know if there is a date for XEM 1.0 release. On JIRA (
http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XEM) it shows the 1.0-RC2 for 10/01/2007.
Any idea about the final release ?

Another question. Is XEM 1.0 based on XE 1.2 ? Because XE 1.2 is planned for
05/01/2007 so I was wondering if XEM would be released at the same time of
XE.

Thanks,

When you grant the sales user (grant all privileges on sales.* to

But I really thought that XWiki Manager would handles all that

The Wiki Manager plugin does automatically create a new database for
the new wiki. However we don't automatically set the privileges (I
guess that's because there might not be any standard way of doing this
in Hibernate). So what you have to do (once) is:

grant all privileges on *.* to [EMAIL PROTECTED] identified by 'xwiki'

Humm, that might be a bug because meanwhile I was having a look at MySQL
documentation, I clicked a second time of my virtual wiki link, and it
works. So now, each time I create a new virtual wiki, I go to its home page
a first time and get the encoding exception, I click a second time and it
works. I'm using :

[xwiki-users] Admin password for XEM 1.0-M2

2007-12-27 Thread Antonio Goncalves
Hi,

I've installed XEM 1.0-M2 from a fresh install (new database...)
and imported the
xwiki-enterprise-manager-wiki-administrator-1.0-M2.xarfile. In the
import list, I can see that there is an 'Admin' user, but I
cannot log on with the password 'admin' (lower case 'a'). Is the Admin
password different with XEM ? What am I doing wrong ?

Ooops, sorry, I was pointing to a different database where I had change the
password. So, in XEM, the Admin password is still admin.

Re: [xwiki-users] XEM.war, XEM.war and Plugin Wiki Manager... getting confused

2007-12-27 Thread Antonio Goncalves
Thank you Vincent, I've tried both solutions and it works fine.

I'm just confused now about how to create new wikis. When I use XEM (
http://localhost:8080/xwiki/bin/view/WikiManager/) and I click on create a
new wiki, no problem. For example, if I create a wiki called *sales*, I
have a new link showing *sales.localdomain.com*. To cheat, I change my hosts
file (on Windows Vista) and map the *sales.localdomain.com* to 127.0.0.1.
But after, when I click on *sales.localdomain.c*om I get an exception
that my user xwiki cannot access the database *sales* :

javax.servlet.ServletException: Error number 3202 in 3: Exception
while reading document XWiki.XWikiPreferences
Wrapped Exception: Error number 3301 in 3: Exception while switching
to database sales
Wrapped Exception: Access denied for user 'xwiki'@'localhost' to
database '*sales*'

org.apache.struts.action.RequestProcessor.processActionPerform(RequestProcessor.java:433)

org.apache.struts.action.RequestProcessor.process(RequestProcessor.java:236)
org.apache.struts.action.ActionServlet.process(ActionServlet.java:1196)
org.apache.struts.action.ActionServlet.doGet(ActionServlet.java:414)
javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:690)
javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:803)

com.xpn.xwiki.web.SetCharacterEncodingFilter.doFilter(SetCharacterEncodingFilter.java:117)

So what I did after is create a new database *sales* and give the user xwiki
all the priviledges :

mysql --user=root --execute=create database *sales*
mysql --user=root --execute=grant all privileges on xwiki.* to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] identified by '*sales*'

But that doesn't work either. When I go to *sales.localdomain.com*here
comes a new exception :

javax.servlet.ServletException: Error number 3 in 0: Could not
initialize main XWiki context
Wrapped Exception: Error number 3202 in 3: Exception while reading
document XWiki.XWikiPreferences
Wrapped Exception: Could not create a DBCP pool

org.apache.struts.action.RequestProcessor.processException(RequestProcessor.java:535)

org.apache.struts.action.RequestProcessor.processActionPerform(RequestProcessor.java:433)

org.apache.struts.action.RequestProcessor.process(RequestProcessor.java:236)
org.apache.struts.action.ActionServlet.process(ActionServlet.java:1196)
org.apache.struts.action.ActionServlet.doGet(ActionServlet.java:414)
javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:690)
javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:803)

com.xpn.xwiki.web.SetCharacterEncodingFilter.doFilter(SetCharacterEncodingFilter.java:117)

I think I'm doing something wrong because in my understanding XWiki Manager
should do these things automatically and I think I'm doing to much hand
work. I'm using MySQL 5.0.45. Any idea ?

Thanks,

Antonio

Yes, that's almost correct. We need these instructions on the
xwiki.org web site. To transform XE into a XEM install do the following:

 * install the Application Manager plugin (JAR) + the Application
 Manager application (XAR)
 * install the Wiki Manager plugin (JAR) + the Wiki Manager application
 (XAR)
 * modify xwiki.cfg to set xwiki.virtual to 1

 Thanks

[xwiki-users] Adding flash animation

2007-12-10 Thread Antonio Goncalves
Hi,

I've made an animation with Wink, transformed it into flash (swf file) and
now I want to add it to my page. I've followed the instructions on
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/FAQ/HowDoIAddAnimatedGifSshockwaveAndFlashItemsToMyWiki
but it does not work.

What I do is that I attach my swf file (myanimation.swf) to my page and then
add :

#set($width = 500)
#set($height= 500)
#set($flashurl = $doc.getAttachmentURL(myanimation.swf, download))
#includeForm(xwiki:XWiki.Flash)

I'm using XWiki 1.0 and nothing appears on my page. When I look at the HTML
code produced, nothing in there. Does any body have any idea ?

Thanks,

You can remove all layout by adding ?xpage=plain to URLs.

Re: [xwiki-users] CAPTCHA for comments and registration

2007-12-03 Thread Antonio Goncalves
Hi,

I'm also trying to add captcha validation to the comments. I've looked at
Dodo skin and I'm trying to do the same for Albatross but it doesn't work.
I've set xwiki.plugin.captcha=1 in the xwiki.cfg. Dodo uses comments.vm but
it looks like the most appropriate place in Albatros is commentsinline.vm,
am I right ? Then, when I copy the following code into commentsinline.vm but
nothing happens

#if ($captchaPlugin)
  $captchaPlugin.displayCaptcha(comment,wiki_captcha)
#end

Any idea

2007/11/29, marlon hendred [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

 Hello All,
Im trying to captcha validate my register page on my xwiki because i've
had a problem with spam bots. I am using the albatross skin on xwiki
v1.1.1.5166. I've asked this question before, and was told by someone to
look at captcha.vm, edit.vm etc... in the dodo skins. The only thing I
found related to captcha was this:

 #if ($captchaPlugin)
   $captchaPlugin.displayCaptcha(edit,wiki_captcha)
 #end

I added that to the registerinline.vm file and got nothing! In
WEB-INF/xwiki.cfg, the captcha plugin is set to 1.

I would really appreciated it if a developer would surface and tell me how
this works, what im doing wrong, or point me to some WORKING examples.
 Thanks.

An easy way to do that, without loosing anything is to change the object
 type of

For exemple, you can execute something like that on your database server :

 update xwikiobjects, xwikilargestrings set
   XWO_CLASSNAME='XWiki.XWikiComments_spam' where
   XWO_CLASSNAME='XWiki.XWikiComments' and XWL_ID=XWO_ID and
