Re: [xwiki-users] BulletinBoard Application - layout issue

2008-04-24 Thread Jason McIntosh
Guillaume,

We're all on Windows XP. We've seen the problem in IE6 and Firefox
2.0.0.14and other versions of Firefox 2.

I'm not sure if I have the right XWiki version number, but I believe it's
1.2.2.7518.

Thanks

Jason

 Hi Josh,

 We're seeing this same thing. We've seemed to narrow it down to only
  occurring on threads that have quoting on. We have several threads
  without
  any quoting and all the text displays correctly, but on the pages where
  someone has quoted a previous post we lose some of the text as shown in
  the

  Sheet or anything else to get this problem solved?

 I need more information about your issue in order to reproduce and then try
 to solve it. Specifically :

   - What OS / browser are you using ?
   - Which version of XWiki are you using ?
   - Which skin are you using ? Did you modify it in any way ?

 Once I get those I'll try to find an answer :-)

 Thanks,

 Guillaume

 Hi,
 I tried to reproduce the issue locally but I didnt manage to yet. Can
 you
 try the page with ?skin=albatross appended at the end to make sure that
 the
 issue cannot be related to some custom change you may have made to your
 skin
 ?

 Furthermore can you check the version of XWiki / of the Albaross skin you
 are using ?

 You are right: I am using some customized files in a new ad hoc skin. But
 baseskin is Albatross.

 The point is that the customization works fine with the Albatross skin
 packaged with 1.3-SNAPSHOT.8231.

 The problem was reported while using 1.3-milestone-1.7186. I don't know if
 there have been changes in Albatross inbetween, but this is what I see
 here.

 As 1.3 is close, I will report again when I update the production server
 to the new release. And of course if I found any reasson that could be
 causing this behavior.

 Sorry for not trying with the new snapshot before reporting the problem.
 Thanks!

 Cheers,

 Ricardo

There must be a reason why the skin is showing up like this but I cannot
identify yet...

 Hi,

 I've finally managed to come back to this issue. Sorry for the delay.

  Hi Ricardo,
  it used to happen to me but I modified the cell CSS to force a
 min-width:
  100px; upon it. On my local install it does work. Can you check you have
 :

  #posttd {
  border:1px solid #CC;
  min-width:100px;
  vertical-align:top;
  }

  On your BBCode.Skin page ? Because that's the code that should be
 keeping
  the cell wide enough. You might check what happens underneath using
  Firebug
  or else to check the page source code ?

  (It's working fine for me and I'm using FF 2 on Mac OS X too btw)

 Here what I've done.

 1. Environment: Firefox 2.0.0.12 on Mac OS X 10.5.2 Intel.
 2. #posttd is in BBCode.Skin.

 I've cleared the cache, restarted the browser and accessed a Bulletin
 Board.
 Same result...

 This is what I see in Firebug...

 http://mire.environmentalchange.net/~webmaster/images/BBLayoutFirebugPb.png

 But the correct min-width: 100px only works if I edit any of the values in
 #posttd in Firebug. For instance...

 http://mire.environmentalchange.net/~webmaster/images/BBLayoutFirebugPbEdited.png

 If I restart Firefox, the wrong layout is shown.

 Please, does this make sense for you? Thanks!
