Which one?

FYI, we just released version 1.2 of the CKEditor integration, see:

[xwiki-users] Comments on WYSIWYG editor

2016-02-19 Thread Bruno

Hello,

Let me share with you my comments about the WYSIWYG editor :

 * when inserting tables, borders are hardly visible. Internal and
external borders, 1 pixel solid would be more visible
 * same thing with the horizontal ruler that is invisible :-(
 * lists are not flexible. For example, if I insert code or contents of
   a configuration file under a 2nd or 3rd level bullet, I can't take
back my list after this insertion at the same level. I can't do that :
 o XWiki setup :
 + code :

   apt-get update
   apt-get clean
   apt-get install xwiki-enterprise-tomcat8-mysql

+ during the installation, let dbconfig take care of the MySQL
   configuration
 * a box to highlight code or file configuration content in monospace
and background-color will be great ! Like that :

# We need a workers file exactly once
# and in the global server
JkWorkersFile /etc/libapache2-mod-jk/workers.properties

# Our JK error log

# You can (and should) use rotatelogs here
JkLogFile /var/log/apache2/mod_jk.log

# Our JK log level (trace, debug, info, warn, error)

JkLogLevel info

# Our JK shared memory file

JkShmFile /var/log/apache2/jk-runtime-status

 * or that :

jdbc:mysql://localhost/xwiki
xwiki
MOT.DE.PASSE
com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
org.hibernate.dialect.MySQL5InnoDBDialect
true
20

Thank you for your excellent work !

Hi,

I'm a new XWiki user, and I've just noticed that comments made to pages
don't appear in the Recent Changes section, unless I select Show minor

inconvenient since comments are an important part of my wiki. Any help is

Which XWiki version are you using? In which browser?
In XWiki Enterprise 1.8 there is a special icon on the dashboard to show
that a comment has been added to a document, and clicking on show comment
displays it right on the dashboard, which is the expected behavior...

That's easy: just downgrade to an older version of XWiki Enterprise (
1.6) :P

More seriously, an easy way you have to reduce the size of the footer
without downgrading is to not load the initial content of the comment
tab. You'll have all tabs links available, but no content under them as
long as you don't click one of the tab. To do this, you have to edit the
file docextra.vm under the templates/ directory in you webapp and
comment or remove the following line at the end of the file :

  Event.observe(window, load, extraInit, false);

Hope this helps,
Jerome.

Last you can disable any of the tabs if you don't want to see them.
You can also make them appear on some conditions that you specify.

If other users want the old style we could probably offer different
variations. At least we could make it available on the code zone

[xwiki-users] comments improvement

I would like to implement the possibility to reply to comments, and
the corresponding cascading display.

I assume this change, if possible, should be made on

bit lost. Has anything similar been done? Where can I learn more on
how to do it?

This is the UI extension design we've been discussing for some time on

Anyway we can still achieve all this with current infrastructure too.

I don't understand what you mean here.

So one can always add it to left or right pane, thus it does not

Lastly I see that in panels application we can configure the left

 as to
complete a border layout. Thus tomorrow we can move this comments

attachments section in the bottom (for whatever spaces we need).

Today this is done by the skin which provides a header and footer

[xwiki-users] Comments and attachments in a xwiki page

2008-01-18 Thread Sachn Mittal

Hi,
I see that any page we create in xwiki has a comments and attachment section
attached below the contents.
Is there any way to configure it to not show up.
I can do this by modifying the velocity template, but wanted it as part of
configuration setting.
Another thing I notice is that Comments and attachments section is part of a
panel in the panel application.
So one can always add it to left or right pane, thus it does not make much
sense to have it (by default) below every page.

Lastly I see that in panels application we can configure the left and right
panes. There should also be an option to configure top and bottom so as to

attachments section in the bottom (for whatever spaces we need).

Let me know you suggestions on these.

Thanks
Sachin

An easy way to do that, without loosing anything is to change the object

For exemple, you can execute something like that on your database server :

 update xwikiobjects, xwikilargestrings set
