Hello,
I got the same issue.
I found on the configuration that the memory limit of a page is 30 mb.
It can be extended but for me it was ok,
This is not a question of a document size but the overall documents size
on the same page.

See http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-5568 . Depending on the memory
configuration of your web server 26MB and even 9MB can be a lot for
database storage. For storing large attachment the file system
attachment store is recommended. See
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Filesyst
We have no problems with smaller files.
Thing is...there are already files attached to that page. A 26.5 Mb Word
Document and the 9 Mb PDF file.
How come that uploading a file (9 Mb) in the first place is no problem...but
uploading a new version is?

Today a user tried, but failed, to upload a document to our XWiki 4.0
It was an existing document, so XWiki should have created a new version.
So I tried to upload the file myself, but...
