Does anyone have any info or pointers about how to find character styles
in a Writer document?
In the past the Alternative Find & Replace extension was very useful for
this, but unfortunately it is no longer maintained and something must
have changed in the 6.x series which causes it

I just now tried the latest release of the extension (ver 1.4.2) with
6.2Alpha1 and you are correct it fails searching for a character style.
Also, just now, tried that extension with 6.1.3 -> 5.4.7 (all using Ubuntu
18.04) and it works fine for character style searches.
