I have created some excel chat on Windows with Microsoft office 2007 and 2010. I have nought a macbookpro laptop and I have installed on it OpenOffice 3.3 and last night I noticed it doesn't display my excel charts. My charts are inside documents (I mean I have included my graphs inside my PhD thesis chapters). Open Office displays words and description but graphs are faded. I can see graphs in my friend's laptop which is windows and she has Microsoft Office 2007 on it. My question is this: If I install free LibreOffice on my MacbookPro (2011 version), will it display my Excel charts that I have created on Windows laptop with Microsoft office 2007 and 2010? Re: [libreoffice-users] Please help/advice...
Hi :) Good move. Posting a new bug-report and linking it to the old one was good because they appear to be slightly different. OOo have never been fast at accepting fixes for bugs which was part of the reason for Go-oo. LibreOffice and Go-oo merged bringing in a wealth of well-tested code. LibreOffice is working at fixing the back-log while also developing new features. The document is not a document, it is a template, and it contains a lot of macros. Documents produced using the template 'should' be easier to translate into MS Office formats. MS Office uses dangerous and vulnerable systems for it's macros. Presumably OOo and LibO macros are very different. Can you save this template as a document with no macros? File - Save As .. Good luck and regards from Tom :) From: Chris Fleischmann cdfleischm...@gmail.com To: users@libreoffice.org Sent: Wed, 2 February, 2011 8:42:43 Subject: [libreoffice-users] Please help/advice... Hello my name is Chris Fleischmann, I have been using the OpenOffice SDK with OpenOffice.org for quite some time. All was working well, except for when I tried to save my document to MS Word format. I came across a bug where by a TextFrame with a background image (attribute: BackGraphicURL is set), contains another TextFrame holding an image, (see uploaded http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/67358/test2.sxw sample exhibiting one of the errors seen when opening in MS Word)... When trying to save the document, you get an error and the document doesn't open properly in MS Word, 2000, XP, 2003 or 2007. I previously logged a bug against this as: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=103356 However this bug was closed as a duplicate of : http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=32638... However this bug is not the same I believe, and exhibits different behaviours... In any case, this bug has been opened for some time, and I guess I am hoping for a solution or any possible workaround. I can't imagine people liking the idea that they can't save their documents in MS Word format to not be able to open? I have tried now using LibreOffice for personal reasons as well as newer features, but the problem still can be observed with 3.3.0 OOO330m19 (Build:6), tag libreoffice-3.3.0.4 Thanks for any help you may be able to provide on the subject. Hello Tom, thanks for your response... I sent you a separate email as it contained an attachment with my sample MS Word file (not engineering) that also has the problem/behaviour that I see (no template). Also attached is Engineering's sample MS Word Doc file showing the not enough memory error... Kind Regards, Chris On 2/02/11 8:22 PM, Tom Davies wrote: Hi :) Good move.
