Re: deltarpms save almost no space
With the latest push, it's creating drpms both between the 2 latest versions, and between release and latest. But it didn't create the drpms that were missing before. For example, in https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/updates/25/x86_64/drpms/ there's still only thunderbird-45.4.0-1.fc25_45.6.0-3.fc25.x86_64.drpm (there should have been one from 45.6.0-2 to 45.6.0-3, but that update was from before the fix) but for the just released 4.9.3 kernel there's both kernel-4.8.16-300.fc25_4.9.3-200.fc25.x86_64.drpm and kernel-4.8.6-300.fc25_4.9.3-200.fc25.x86_64.drpm. So should be good going forward, if you're already up to date. ___ users mailing list -- users@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org

I think it's expected that the size of the update metadata grows after release. Thanks for pursuing this. I noticed that deltarpms weren't consistently happening, but I thought that someone had decided they were not needed or something. Part of those continuous Fedora changes. Like an ISO 9001 factory, continuous improvement. I've noticed something else, but haven't mentioned it. It seems that the updates repository grows constantly in size, and that dnf downloads the whole thing every time. Is that part of the deltarpm change, so it will only download the differences now? It seems a waste to download all the information that is already here again. ___ users mailing list -- users@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org

deltarpms save almost no space
Deltarpms used to save about 75% of update size, lately it's almost nothing, since most packages don't get drpms. In the latest F25 update, for example, even the update from thunderbird-45.6.0-2.fc25.x86_64 to thunderbird-45.6.0-3.fc25.x86_64 didn't have a drpm.
