Re: Problems building Marmotta

2016-09-23 Thread Michael Della Bitta
Hi all,

For what it’s worth, I’m a new engineer at the DPLA looking at some performance
problems we’re having with our Marmotta-based system, and I’m looking to do
custom builds as well.

I’m having trouble building from HEAD as well. Having test failures in the EH
Cache, Infinispan and Reasoner modules, both in Linux and OS X.

Also, it appears that the builds in Apache’s Jenkins and Travis are failing for
other reasons:

https://builds.apache.org/job/Marmotta/966/console

https://travis-ci.org/apache/marmotta

Is there a recommended environment to do builds in aside from Java/Maven in
terms of OS/versions?

Thanks,

Michael

Thanks for the quick fixes!

However, now the build fails at the "KiWi Triplestore: Reasoner" stage,
with this test failure:

Results :

Failed tests:
  JustificationResolutionTest.testResolveBaseTriplesSingle:163
expected:<1> but was:<2>

Tests run: 55, Failures: 1, Errors: 0, Skipped: 27

I was able to complete the build using -DskipTests=true.

BTW, you do not need to depend at the source level, but you can easily
build your custom Marmotta launcher depending at the Maven level. This
is an example we built for a
tutorial: https://github.com/wikier/apache-marmotta-tutorial-iswc2014

Thanks, but at the moment, I'm mostly interested in deploying an
unaltered Marmotta WAR on a Tomcat application server and then
developing any custom parts by hooking into the LDP and SPARQL APIs of
Marmotta. But this might change along the way.

Good to hear that :-)

Try to fetch the current HEAD of develop, we've fixed some minor issues
there.

BTW, you do not need to depend at the source level, but you can easily
build your custom Marmotta launcher depending at the Maven level. This is
an example we built for a tutorial: https://github.com/
