How do you remove a data storage domain, that is not the primary data domain?
The glusterfs it was based on is no longer available and the domain is stuck in
maintenance mode. It will not detach because it has disks on it. The disks
have all been deactivated and replaced in the VMs they

You can destroy the domain. It will remove the domain and its disks from
the engine DB.
Right click on the relevant domain which is in 'maintenance' -> 'Destroy'

Hi Doron,
Yes, I am referring to storage level fencing like drbd/pacemaker tool.

Could you be more specific about error?
not that I did troubleshoot it, nor not much of an error,
kvm guest would not boot up spitting something like "no boot
disk/device found".
downgrade and guest would boot again no probs.

Hi,
I was able to import your VMs with storage domain that had 350GB free.
Your ova have a disk with 1GB actual size and 256 virtual size - when I try
to import to a storage with 50G I got the error that you had.
if you will look at /var/log/vdsm/import/... you will see the logs of each

Hi,
After looking into some more document, I think storage level fencing is
supported in ovirt via gluster.
Can some one correct me on this ?

I’m new to overt and this has been a rapid learning curve, and come to point
where I need assistance.
The objective of this project is to provide via a igel thin client a seamless
multimedia experience for the end user.
The environment is based upon both host and virtual instance using Centos

Hi Aleksey,
One more question for debugging purposes: How long does the import go
before it dies? Do you have enough time to run:
ps aux | grep virt-v2v
On the import host while it's running? This might help us determine
where it's trying to store the data. It should be storing it in the

I changed the previous all in one network to a dedicated gluster storage

Another workaround can import to NFS storage domain as thin-provision and
then copy the VM to your FC or SCSI domain and delete the VM from the NFS
domain.

Derek, thank you for participating.
In the end, I completed the task (OVA imported).
The root of the problem is that I tried to use the import with thin provision.
But there is a known issue https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1382404
Workaround: Import VM from OVA as preallocated
