So this looks like it is a bug in qemu/libvirtd
We had avic=1 set for kvm_amd, but when this is set the qemu capabilities
cache showed all EPYC/AMD Variants as unusable and blocking due to missing
'x2apic'. My guess is that it should probably be looking for the avic flag
instead. My other guess

Hello,
I heard that ovirt-guest-agent is now deprecated and qemu-guest-agent should be
used instead.
As today I still install the ovirt-guest-agent from EPEL in my EL guests, but
should I continue doing this or using the shipped qemu-guest-agent should be
used instead?
What about Windows

These are great! Thanks for sharing :) I for one know nothing about iSCSI,
so that one is particularly cool to me :)
If you're looking for extra visibility, feel free to post helpful stuff

Hi,
ovirt-guest-agent isn't deprecated yet, so you can still use it in 4.3 no
problem.
Best wishes,
Greg

Thanks, I will..
Right now I wanted to record part 2 of importing Windows VM's from ESXi,
but since the VM is using UEFI, the coversion fails (without mentioning
anything, I had to find it's placing the log in vdsm/import/) and there I
found this lovely message...

Hi,
Is this an upgrade or a fresh installation? What version? What installation
or upgrade commands / methods did you use?
Best wishes,
Greg

Hi,
I'm trying after connecting to a node to look with virsh what machines are
available (this is 1 node ovirt)
Even when using something
like: qemu://mynode/system?authfile=/etc/ovirt-hosted-engine/virsh_auth.conf
and running list --all - I see only the running machines.
Looking through the web
Just curious as to whether anyone has additional insight on this or if I need
to rebuild. Is there any recommended documentation on vdsm and its networking
that I can read up on?___

Hi Feral,>So why is ovirt's guest disc performance (native and gluster) so poor? Why is it consistently giving me about 1/10th to 1/80th of the hosts disc throughput?About the glister cluster volume - try without sharing. I have tested glusterfs (fuse Mount) with tmpfs and the maximum throughput
Hi Hetz,
with oVirt, the virtual machines that does not run are not present on the
node. You have the storage where are the virtual machines stored. You also
have the engine which stores every virtual machine in its database. It also
knows where the machine should run. This is why you can see the

Not sure yet, but i would at least disable compression, video playing seems
to be pretty poor, and crackling ( youtube, etc )

Hello,
I have installed an hosted engine, and I have seen that this
installation needs to access to a repository from internet.
Do you know that is possible to download an ISO to install an hosted
engine and install it from this ISO ?

Thanks Greg. Adding the UserRole on the on specific VMs works.
I didn’t know that the workflow is to have then VMs we intend to assign created
prior to granting users access to the UI (system). I was going about it the
opposite way.
I still think there’s an issue because assignment of the

No. I gave up on ovirt 4.2 (node iso and centos) and moved over to the node

back to centos and installed 4.3 there, which comes with
