I followed the same steps as done by Jayme and I've double checked with infra
also, there is no issue with infra. Why does gluster peer status shows
disconnected after it gets upgraded?

There is nothing special for upgrading HCI env with Gluster. Bellow steps will
be enough:
1- Stop glusterd service in one node which needs to be upgraded.
2- upgrade that node and start glusterd service.
3- wait heal to be completed.
4- continue same procedure for other nodes.
