Thank you for your help. ISO images uploaded via oVirt Image I/O (Open
Virtualization Manager -> Storage Domain -> Disks -> Uploads) can be used as a
CD. The only significant disadvantage of Storage Domain with the Data function
compared to ISO is that the images are downloaded over the network first to the
host with the Engine, and then transferred to the final host with NFS. This
loads the channels, the Engine itself. In the case of an ISO, the image can be
manually uploaded directly to the destination NFS server.

Upload the iso to one of the data domains you use for your VMs.

For the initial installation of the operating system in a virtual machine, you
need to mount an ISO image that is located in the storage domain of the NFS
type (ISO function). If the NFS server is located within a high-speed LAN (one
data center), then there are no problems, if you need to connect an image to a
remote site (second data center) with slow channels, then difficulties arise.

oVirt 4.3 is quite old.
Anyway since 4.2 you could put iso files on your ordinary data domains,
where performance access should be acceptable for any host.
In 4.2.x there were some problems when swapping CDs in a running VM with
iso being on block based data domains, but I think this had been fixed in
4.3
You can also put your iso in different data domains and use then the one
that is better for you when you need to install an OS in a VM from iso

I'm not sure what you mean by your "example", nor why you would need a
dedicated ISO Storage Domain, when that practice was ended a while ago.

I have several "datacenters", all using iSCSI and FC SAN storage, but I keep an
NFS storage domain available to copy ISO's and templates, and to move VMs
(actually their disks) between datacenters, as needed.

Is it possible in oVirt 4.3 for each Data Center to create a separate ISO
Domain Storage, with NFS type, on one of the hosts belonging to this Data
Center? For example, in the case of connecting a remote site in a separate Data
Center to an existing Engine through slow network links.
