Re: [ovirt-users] Scheduling policy time interval and others

2017-08-13 Thread Yanir Quinn
Hi,

These properties are a part of load balancing (you will either get them
with default values when selecting one of the pre-defined scheduling
policies that include load balancing or you can set them when
creating/editing a new scheduling policy with load balancing)

Regarding the example above , HighUtilization and
CpuOverCommitDurationMinutes are intertwined.
HighUtilization or other similar properties will use to determine if the
cpu/memory load for a host is outside of utilization values (determination
of under utilized hosts / over utilized hosts)
- these will be taken into account if the defined
CpuOverCommitDurationMinutes property has passed (and you can see the
connection the other way around)

Regards,
Yanir Quinn

You can set these parameters under Cluster Edit Dialog -> Scheduling
Policies.

Best Regards

[ovirt-users] Scheduling policy time interval and others

2017-08-12 Thread wodel youchi
Hi,

When reading about scheduling policy, I am faced with some variables, but I
cannot find any explanation on how they are defined or where are they
defined.

For example :
- HighUtilization: Expressed as a percentage. If the host runs with CPU
usage at or above the high utilization value for the* defined time interval*
.

- CpuOverCommitDurationMinutes: Sets the time (in minutes) that a host can
run a CPU load outside of the* defined utilization values* before the
scheduling policy takes action.

Time interval and utilization values, where are these values?

Regards.
