Don't use AjaxFormComponentUpdatingBehavior but use DropDownChoice.wantOnSelectionChangedNotifications() instead. But how do I refresh the page in the modal window by overriding DropDownChoice.wantOnSelectionChangedNotifications()? Where do I get the handle to AjaxRequestTarget?
