Is there any documentation available for the velocity API
objects($xwiki,$doc,$context,$request..)
in xwiki ? I am looking for the list of the methods available in these
objects and the description of each of those methods. Please help ..

Domain name was localhost and there was no alias (I don't understand
why it was working...). And SSL was 0.
I added the good alias, put SSL to 1 and now it's working.

To answer your question XWiki is written in java and thus will work on
any OS similarly. Thus the choice of file to download isn't based on
the OS.
Please check the xwiki.org download page to understand what each file
is about.
