The easiest is generally to start from an existing authenticator. I
would suggest you to simply take
https://github.com/xwiki-contrib/sandbox/tree/master/authenticators/xwiki-authentication-headers
and modify it for you needs either as a new authenticator or as a new
version of the generic headers
Well having DocumentReference as type of the macro parameter should be
enough for the WYSIWYG to know that it's a document that is needed. We
just need to implement a org.xwiki.properties.converter.Converter on
Java side for String - DocumentReference.

For those who are less inclined to programming a more manual workaround would
to type in the URL to /wiki/bin/view/Main/AllDocs
then click on the Restore link and get the document index back at least.
