Title*:** L3 LAN Engineer * Duration: 5 months (880 hours) *Phone interview * *Remote* *9/10 comm skills* *Responsibilities * • Create Technical Design Review for all Global Backbone, Country to Country redesign and other project work that may arise • Provide knowledge transfer to Network Operation teams on new implementations. • Monitor, troubleshoot and document any network issues. • Resolve any network issues by implementing change control and providing L3 support where and when required • Involve in technical enhancement and deploy new changes using change management and incident management. • Work with Pfizer Engineering to build the proposed Global WAN backbone, which involves all facets of routing design, configuration and implementation phases. • Should be able to support the development support and design phases for major network applications (for example Cisco Telepresence). LAN Switching and Routing Design and Implementation Engineering Skills also required: • Knowledge / and or experience with Protocols OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and other related technologies (Multicast, IP Video and IP Telephony). • 802.3 Ethernet Bridging and Switching Standards • Provides daily project support services in the Americas region. • Support relationships with key upstream IT delivery organizations (IP Services, application support, etc. • LAN/WAN Capacity and performance analysis for project planning. • Business As Usual (BAU) network software and hardware maintenance projects. • Support project quality metrics. • Provide technology leadership to other members of network team. • Experience with Wide Area Load Balancing (like GSS) and Local Area Load Balancing (CSS/ACE) Architecture a plus Industry Knowledge: • 802.3 standards, as well as 802.11A/B/G/N WLAN • Computer Networking • Familiar with Fiber Optic standards used in campus switching environment • LANS/WANS • Switches – Cisco Catalyst platform (VLANs, trunking) • Wiring Standards • CCNP / CCDP / CCIE skill levels requested Under the client’s direction, resource will provide support as follows: • Remote (not on-site) analysis and documentation of the acquired companies network environment – Project work will be remote with minimal to no travel. May be some travel for meetings. • Validation of existing Network Documentation against current state – Engineer will review network diagrams and documentation and validate against remotely accessed devices. • Management and execution of re-IPing of networks and devices in support of IP Schema Remediation – Engineer will be required to develop an integrated IP address schema. • Support of application access between the client and the acquired company – Engineer will need to do analysis of Applications that communicate between networks. IP address conflicts and firewall dependencies. • Support of Data Migration from the acquired company and the client. - Engineer will need to support migration events. • Support of Site Migration from the acquired company and the client. – Engineer will need to support migration events. • Support network (WAN/LAN) remediation activities. – Engineer will need to support migration, deployment, and break fix activities as needed.
