Job Title: *Security Engineer- IT Architecture Consultant* Location: Wilson, NC Duration: 3+ Contract to hire *Interview Process: Phone and Skype if not local* *Must be Green Card or Citizen* Description: *Primary Purpose* Technology expert responsible for designing, documenting, implementing, tuning, enhancing, and debugging complex technology solutions that satisfy business needs. *Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Primary support for Akamai and DDOS protection. The following is a summary of the essential job functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. 1. Analyzes complex business requirements and develops effective technology solutions. 2. Acquires deep business domain expertise, as needed. 3. Works with project teams, lines of business and other IT resources to analyze and develop technology solutions to satisfy business needs. 4. Participates in the development and evaluation of Requests for Information and Requests for Proposal. 5. Provides technical leadership and has ability to convince others of the soundness of a technical approach. 6. Architects technical solutions to complex problems. 7. Researches and debugs complex technical problems. 8. Stays current with emerging technologies, their strengths and weaknesses and their application to business solutions. *Required Skills and Competencies:* Requires experience with DDOS protection Requires experience with web application firewalls Prefer Akamai and Radware experience 1. Bachelor's degree in IT related curriculum or equivalent work experience 2. Extensive experience in specialized technologies and/or a broad range of technologies 3. Ten-fifteen years’ experience and high proficiency with the following Information Technologies: Information security best practices IT performance/scalability principles Relational database technologies Principles of a service oriented architecture Mainframe, distributed, Web, and/or networking technologies Design tools and techniques Application development methodologies Technology testing and change implementation best practices 4. Highly competent communications and documentation skills 5.
