RESPONSIBILITIES/ROLES

Design and implement infrastructure solutions in the System/Middleware
space for the various platform initiatives.

Collaborate with the development teams on the platform and provide
recommendations and guidance on solutions where there is a strong
intersection between code and system/middleware config.

Act as last level of escalation on the Technical services team for all
system/middleware issues and assist in incident resolution and problem
management.

Lifecycle management of system and middleware components that are used by
the Company’s Wealth Platform.

Analyze production environment to detect critical deficiencies and
recommend solutions for improvement.

Ensure that the solutions engineered and implemented in the Web/Middleware
technologies meet the Company’s security and compliance requirements.





SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE

Preferably 10 - 12 years of experience in working in production and
pre-production support or management required.

Candidate must demonstrate ability to work collaboratively be able to
provide direction and assistance with diagnostics and troubleshooting using
critical problem solving techniques.

Must have strong team focus and client service work ethic.





Additional technical requirements are as follows

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science in related discipline or equivalent.
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience.

Strong fundamental understanding in the design, management and maintenance
of internet facing web applications using httpd or other unix web server
platforms.

Subject matter expertise with J2EE containers and concepts, specifically
Oracle Weblogic Suite.

Subject matter expertise with Middleware Messaging technologies like Oracle
Service Bus, IBM MQ, JMS and OAQ

Strong background and fundamental understanding of *nix systems like OEL
and Solaris.

Working knowledge of virtualization platforms like VMWare, Cisco UCS a plus.

Provide detailed root cause analysis and suggest workarounds and/or
solutions for recurring issues.

Past experience in identifying and working with vendor support like Oracle,
CA and EMC to provide resolution to issues that need escalation.

Demonstrate project leadership to drive projects to completion by
collaborating with system admins, DBA and architecture teams.

Good understanding of scripting languages like bash, Perl, Python and
understanding of JAVA is a plus

A fast learner with ability to dive into new products and technologies,
develop subject matter expertise and drive projects to completion.

A team player with good written and verbal communication skills that can
mentor other members in the production support group.





Physical Demands and Work Environment



While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require
an individual to move around the office and from building to building which
may expose the individual to weather conditions outside. The individual has
to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for
extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be
able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over
the telephone and email.
