If you are not interested in this position, please let me know if you have any friends who would be interested..... *Here are the new job details:* *____________________________________________________________________________* *Job Title: Embedded Software Quality Engineer * *Job Locations: Andover, MA [ 100% Onsite]* *Duration: 12 + Months Contract **[Potential Extensions]* *Phone/Skype* *Job Description:* =========================================== *Product engineering experience will be added advantage!!!* *Responsibilities:* * Design and execute functional tests for end user scenarios for our next-gen environmental monitor system that involves various physical world sensors and security products. * Design, implement and execute automated tests * Investigate and reproduce defects and record results in the JIRA defect tracking system and follow up with development engineers * Review requirements, specifications, user documentation and other customer facing documentation to assure quality of the products and tests to be developed. * Work in an agile software development environment in a cross-site team environment *Qualifications:* * BA/BS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computing Science or equivalent, advanced degree a plus. * Thorough understanding of QA process including documenting test cases, executing tests (automated and manual) and defect triage * Experience testing embedded appliance based products * Expert understanding of various TCP/UDP/IP based network protocols. * Linux / UNIX experience * Excellent communication skills required to document and report defect details * 5+ years experience as a software QA professional * Experience with Java programming and knowledge of test frameworks such as JUnit/TestNG to add new tests to the existing framework * Knowledge of automation tools such as SoapUI * Good understanding of Web technologies that will enable help investigate and reproduce defects on the UI of the product * Functional understanding SQL is helpful Regards.
