Yes they do!! Metric AND imperial is taught in our schools!! Nearly everything down to tin tacks is bought in metric measures over here, yet we still insist on selling beer in pint glasses and keeping miles and yards on our public roads!!
There are mixed messages all over the place, so it is no wonder confusion reigns!! Incidentally, the height of the girl in question converted to centimetres is just over 160cm!! We will be converted to metric in MOST things by the year 2009, but I'm afraid, more's the pity, full metrication is a LONG way off yet!! Regards, Steve.
