Common Core Compromise: We need to work with the state advocates and developers of Common Core to make sure the original good intent is not lost. Tuition cost in higher education must stop increasing! One of the best investments we can make in a child's life is high-quality early education. Education belongs in the hands of our parents, local officials, local educational agencies and states. How can teachers hold all children to the same standard when they are not all the same? One of the most distressing characteristics of education reformers is that they are hype-focused on how students perform, but they ignore how students learn. We desire to honor the teachers, reach out to all students, review the standards, with teachers in charge, review testing methods of students, reach out to poorer areas of South Carolina and motivate students, showing them they have every opportunity to be as successful as they desire to be. We will make an effort to visit every school district in South Carolina in the first year of office.
