Jeff, I have a 6 cylinder Silverado that has
both the KN filter and a performance exhaust. I have never had the HP
checked but I have no trouble towing my 29 foot Ambassador.

I immediately noticed the difference after installing a KN filter on my 1999
Suburban. It's especially noticeable going up steep grades. The engine
seems to open up easier.
