making a box to test managed provisioning for hypervisors. in this case
ansible with proxmox and ganeti.

...whereas for VirtualBox nested works only if you have a 64-bit VM and the
nested one is 32-bit (from my experience)
But as Alvaro said: depends on what you really want to achieve and nested
(at least fully virtualized) VMs are rarely the best choice.

I'd suggest maybe looking at kitchenplan? Its a chef based provisioner for
OSX, it may have some automation around installing XCode.

You can do nested virtualization with VMware or Virtualbox, you simply need
to set the appropriate flag for whichever provider you use in order to
allow the CPU VT-x extensions to pass into the VM.

Hello
the way is like this
say you want to use hashicorp/precise32
mkdir precise32
vagrant init hashicorp/precise32 -m
vagrant up
That will do all automatically
it seems you did miss the box name from the vagrant init command.

Hello,
What is what you want to do that require nested virtualization?
Just being curious, and extending this, what is what you want to do?
since are light virtualization and heavy.. so depending on what do you
want to do, perhaps is very simple to fix

what do you mean by offline mode?
can you share what commands have you been using?

So... I've played with vagrant a very little bit in the past. Decided to
renew the acquaintance, and downloaded a new .deb for the current version
and installed it to my laptop (running Ubuntu 14.04). Following the
'Getting Started' guide @ vagrantup.com... all goes well up until this
point:
need to make a box with nested virtualization, for use on mac, windows and
linux (its a diverse IT team) which provider do you recommend?
i like vmware for myself, but its money and id like to share this with the
public. virtualbox does not do nested virtualization, kvm is linux (and
solaris?)
