I use vpopmail+mysql+sqwebmail,and have installed
vopopmail+mysql.
then there is some problem when i install
sqwebmail.
i run ./configure --enalbe-authvchkpw --without-authpam
--without-authuserdb --without-authpwd --without-authshadow
--enable-webpass=no
then run make
Does anyone know how I can test a vpopmail installation. I know this may
probably be trivial, but I like DJB's instructions, especially since he
always allows provisions for testing..

well, overall is good, but it is better for postmaster to change the quote
of users, using ./vsetuserquota , and also your time out is too short.
Besides it is better to add facility, that will split up for example 50

Hey all
I just started working with vpopmail and I am in need of answers.
1. The install guide recommends that all domains be set up as virtual
domains. In the qmail/control/locals file I have my domain already
defined. How can I convert that to a virtual domain? Should I?

What do you suggest to solve this problem?

The 4.8.X versions now will do a look up on user-ext first. If that
succeeds then it delivers the mail to that user. If that fails it
attempts to lookup user.
So you should be able to have users with a dash in thier name.

--enable-mysql=y

No HOWTO. There is a "read only" ldap module for vpopmail
./configure --enable-ldap=y

Just some more info. It needs that mysql version of vpopmail is
used (will change in future). But it will still need mysql tables
(It stores aliases/forwards and lists aliases/forwards/users).
Ok, you have all night to test it, I am going go right now.

Hi,
I just installed a new vpopmail /qmail box, identical to an existing one I
installed. The problem is that it doesnt seem to deliver locally, the mai
just gets queued.
The other problem it that there are alway unproccessed messages in the
queue. the queue is tiny!! like 8 to 13 messages. What

Well, if you don't like it re-compile vpopmail with

Hello folks,
I am announcing vpopadmin, new web administration tool for vpopmail.
It is similar in concept, different in design compared to qmailadmin.
There is daemon which runs as root (could be vpopmail.vchkpw) and
web frontend. They comunicate via mysql table. Both is written
in php. (I k
Hi all

Ok.
When I add 100 users - home dir for new user is like
/home/popusers/domains/a.dom/0/*
I think this is not good.

Depending on how you run your system, possibly nothing. If you wish to have
a MySQL backend to vpopmail, you'll need MySQL, of course. But it's pretty
complete as-is.

Hi everyone,
I discovered what I think is a local security risk for DoS Attacks. If
vchkpw fails to find tcprules it hangs and uses up 100% CPU Time causing for
a machine with several hundreds of pop connections in an hour to finally
hang.
There is no error message by any means.
It cost me hour
