[vchkpw] domain setup but no mail deing received
hi guys my first vpopmail install so i might have overlooked something... i've setup a new domain with one user. everything looks ok, no errors, local mail routing works fine i can deliver a message to the user from root an the user gets the message however, when attempting a remote delivery, say from gmail, no mail is recieved by my server (note, I can sent to remote addresses.) Is there anything i need to edit in /home/vpopmail/etc ? to allow remote email delivery ? !DSPAM:4805a7f3120501618517438!
Re: [vchkpw] domain setup but no mail deing received
hi, can you be more specific? can you at least tell us something like the exact error messages generated by your qmail for this particular transaction? there are many places that can cause failed delivery. perhaps the best place to look for hints would be the log file. regards, reuben Sam Ami wrote: hi guys my first vpopmail install so i might have overlooked something... i've setup a new domain with one user. everything looks ok, no errors, local mail routing works fine i can deliver a message to the user from root an the user gets the message however, when attempting a remote delivery, say from gmail, no mail is recieved by my server (note, I can sent to remote addresses.) Hello, i'm using, 5.4.26d vpopmaild and qmailadmin 1.2.11. Not patched. Qmailadmin is staticaly linked libvpopmail. Perhaps 1.2.12 qmailadmin should be ok ? D. Hilbig wrote: vadduser will not let me create a mailbox where the username part is just one letter (eg. [EMAIL PROTECTED]). Is there a valid reason why one letter is too short? Hi, Because vpopmails hashing function uses A-z and 0-9 for subdirectories, each a single character. Hence there would be no way to tell if d was a subdir or a valid user. RE: [vchkpw] One char username too short. Why?
I asked if there is a valid reason why one is too short? I.E. An RFC standard, etc. I already know that vpopmail's minimum length is two characters. As far as I know, a length of one character is valid and if this is true than vpopmail has a bug. -Original Message- From: Remo Mattei [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, April 16, 2008 3:02 PM To: vchkpw@inter7.com Subject: Re: [vchkpw] One char username too short. I don't think the developers have updated qmailadmin to include that feature. Re: [vchkpw] qmailadmin
Hello, i found the core of problem. Qmailadmin is staticaly linked with libvpopmail.a, so to apply new version you must recompile qmailadmin. My problem was that i stripped libvpopmail.a and qmailadmin have problem to link with libvpopmail.a (undefined reference when building qmailadmin). So i created new not stripped version of libvpopmail.a and linked with qmailadmin and onchange works perfectly :) 2008/4/17, D.
