Re: [vchkpw] Hard Quota's in VPOPMAIL
what is the quota of your postmaster account with the current settings? This was the first time i installed vqadmin, i had always done stuff from the conf files. This was a bit of a challenge to install but I got it working on FreeBSD file paths are a bit different though than the examples. I'm coming from the background of using IMAIL and Windows 2000. IMAIL has an option to turn off quotas off for certain users, this is necessary for me because I'm on several dozen lists and receive a lot of mail, if it isn't possible to turn quotas completely off I'll just crank the number real high. I am almost sure your postmaster user doesnt have any quota, right? When you use vQadmin you should set the domain quota to something. Honestly I never wanted to disable it so I dont know what to write there. Perhaps n or something. Or a very big number would do. Did this help? :) Evren PS. FreeBSD :) good choice... Everything installs but I can't figure out why the hard quota always shows up even though I put in the configure HARDQUOTA=n in the Makefile, I've compiled it with no quotas and yet when I finally get around to adding email accounts via QmailAdmin it says my quota is 10 meg? This was fixed around release 5.3.5 (according to Michael Bowe's research), and vpopmail 5.3.20 and later should work fine with authdaemon. If it doesn't, then we need more information as to when it fails. Michael is working on a 5.2.2 release that backports major bugfixes from the 5.3 series. We hope to have a 5.4 release (i.e., a stable 5.3 release) of vpopmail ready by the end of August. Hooray! I'm definately looking forward to being able use authdaemon. Thanks for the reply. --Doug

Is there a configure option I can use to disable this? Not yet, but it's high on our to do list. Unfortunately, the code that reads and writes a user's .qmail file is in need of a major overhaul.
