[vchkpw] [OT] suggestion for a web bulk mailing

2004-11-16 Thread Paolo Losi
Hi all,
sorry for being OT...
I'm looking for a a web bulk mailing sw.
It should be used not for spam, obviuously.
It should be used for an association to deliver newsletter
to certain member groups.
It should have the ability to import/export email lists (csv format)
and to gather returned receipts. I've tried to look for a GPL php
web application well integrated into qmail, without success...
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Paolo

It's not exactly what you asked for, but ezmlm is a nice mailing list
package.

It has automated subscribe/unsubscribe, automatically unsubscribes
email addresses that bounce, and it can be configured with QmailAdmin.

You can import/export lists of addresses from the command line, and can
make lists moderated so only you can send to them.

check how you've configured vpopmail. I believe vpopmail first looks
for /etc/tcp.smtp{,cdb} when trying to determine a location to use for the
cdb file for roaming users. If you go to your vpopmail source tree, edit
config.log (or config.status on old versions) you should be able to extract
what configure options you used originally. Then, re-run configure with
those options and look at the output it generates for how it has been
configured. From there it should be relatively easy to determine the cause
of your problem :)

[vchkpw] vchkpw segfault with smtp auth on amd64

2004-11-16 Thread Martin Kos
hi
i've done a fresh qmail/vpopmail installation on a debian amd64 port.
everything seems to work just fine, except the smtp auth. sending an email
without smtp auth works just fine. but if i try it with smtp auth i get the
following in my logs:

kernel: vchkpw[28473] segfault at rip rsp
007fbab0 error 14

the only thing that i have found on the net is the following:
http://archives.neohapsis.com/archives/openbsd/2004-05/1814.html
i'm not sure if it is really a vpopmail problem. perhaps somebody has already
had the same problem? i've tried with disalbing the -02 in the CFLAGS but that
does not help. compiling vpopmail with gcc 3.4 was the same thing :-(

if i've missed something or you need more details: just ask ;-). the startup
scripts for daemontools are the same as i use on other machines.

software used:
 vpopmail-5.4.8
 netqmail-1.05
 qmail-toaster-0.6-1.patch
thanks for help
greets
 KoS
