You also need to backup mysql if you use it :) and the assgin and virtual
host in qmail otherwise you have to install all the domains with the same
username and passwd and then copy over the users' info

Ciao,
Remo

My actual configuration is: qmail, vpopmail, qmailadmin, sqwebmail, isoqlog,
mrtg

It would be fine not to reinstall everything...

[vchkpw] Info for popfetch

2007-05-02 Thread Alessio Cecchi
Hello, in contrib dir of vpopmail tar.gz there is this interesting tool.

I have unpack it and in the README i see:

Configuration:
  * Edit popfetch.h and make changes to IP and port of POP server
  * Compile
  * Copy into some library directory
  * Link to a properly patched vchkpw.c with clear text password config

Edit is Ok, compile is simple (only make i think), but Copy ...
and Link ... ? Can some provide me an example for the last two steps?

If i don't know the password of the users, but i configure vpopmail
with --enable-learn-passwords can i enable after popfetch for download
email from the old server?

Thanks

I think just adding the DEFINE to satisfy the ifdefs will get it running.
I'm not totally sure on this one though.

popfetch only works with learn-passwords. If the user has no password,
and has never authenticated, it saves the password then uses the new
password to fetch mail from the remote POP3 server.
