vadduser modifies /var/qmail/users/assign and /var/qmail/users/cdb, which
requires root privleges.

I've found that executing ./vadduser as vpopmail causes a seg fault.
However, when I execute ./vadduser as root, there are no problems. Dunno why
this happens but I share the experience with you anyway :)
