Hi i have installed qmail with vpopmail version 5.2.1 and redhat 9. I have
a problem when my web mail client try to establish too many pop3
connections, The mail server start refusing it.
I don't know what the problem is.
Best regards.

You will need to provide us with more information before we could
even consider helping you. To start with how about you send your
qmail-pop3d run script to the list so we can see it.
Log files and other information relevant to your problem wouldn't hurt
either.

Here is the run script.
#!/bin/sh
env - PATH=/var/qmail/bin:/usr/local/bin \
tcpserver -v -c 200 0 pop3 \
/var/qmail/bin/qmail-popup mail.acelerate.com \
/var/qmail/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw /var/qmail/bin/qmail-pop3d Maildir 21

Firstly, im on the mailing list, there is no need to cc
me on your replies.
Secondly, your limiting the connections to 200 with tcpserver,
have you tried taking that out and seeing if your problem goes
away?

taking out the '-c 200' would drop the connection limit down to 40, the
default, would it not? not sure how that would
There should be no problem, except some flags (I don't remember exactly
which) that may be missing in the 5.2 vpopmail headers.
I suggest to try, and eventually modify the code where necessary.
Write me if you have any problems.
