check for shared libs:

ldd /home/vpopmail/bin/vdeluser
are all of them exist?

strace /home/vpopmail/bin/vdeluser [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[vchkpw] Failed to delete user from auth backend - vpopmail-5.4.26

2008-04-01 Thread aidil
Hi,

I've set up qmail-1.03, ucspi-tcp-0.88, daemontools-0.76, ucspi-ssl-0.70,
cdb-0.75, ezmlm-0.53-idx-0.41, autorespond-2.0.5, vpopmail-5.4.26d,
vqadmin-2.3.7, qmailadmin-1.2.11, courier-authlib-0.60.2,
courier-imap-4.3.1, courierpassd-1.1.2, maildrop-2.0.4,
squirrelmail-1.4.13, clamav-0.92.1, spamassassin-3.2.4-1 on my Fedora 8
x86_64 server with mysql-5.0.45-6 support.

I had a problem with deleting user from a domain when I issued vdeluser
command, below are the error message I get;

# ./vdeluser [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Failed to delete user from auth backend
Error: Illegal username
# ls -l ../domain/test.com
total 8
drwx-- 3 vpopmail vchkpw 4096 2008-04-01 15:47 test01
drwx-- 3 vpopmail vchkpw 4096 2008-04-01 15:47 postmaster
# rm -rf ../domains/test.com/test01/

When I check mysql vpopmail database, was deleted from the database but
the user's directory was not. I had to manually issued remove command to
delete the user's directory.

When I try to delete the domain, I get the following messages;

[EMAIL PROTECTED] bin]# ./vdeldomain test.com
Warning: Failed while attempting to delete domain from auth backend
[EMAIL PROTECTED] bin]# ls -l ../domains/
total 0

But the domain got deleted from the database and domain directory as well.

I've tested with vpopmail-5.4.13, no problem with deleting users or
domain. I've also tested with vpopmail-5.4.17, 5.4.18, 5.4.19, 5.4.20,
5.4.21, 5.4.22, 5.4.23, 5.4.24 and 5.4.25. All producing same errors as
above.

I've ran out of idea finding the problem. I've check previous post, they
said something with file permission but the problem still exist. Is it
something with missing Fedora packages? I've even compare to my real email
server which using same setup and setting, from comparing missing rpm
packages to vpopmail directories permission but still couldn't figure out
the problem is.

Sorry for the long message.
Aidil

RE: [vchkpw] Failed to Delete User from Auth Backend - FIXED

2007-07-27 Thread Signet List Account
To clarify, there was a previous installation of vpopmail from source. The
install using the ebuild did not compile with the proper options, leaving
the previous install in bad shape.

The problem appeared to stem from a broken Gentoo ebuild for vpopmail.

Once vpopmail compiled from source and installed over the Gentoo install
location in /var/vpopmail, it became functional again.
