Re: [vchkpw] Hacked machine
I trust you are not storing your users in a mysql database. If you are then you'll need to backup and restore that too... - Original Message - From: "Widmer Hannes" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "vpopmail list" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, September 08, 2003 4:16 PM Subject: [vchkpw] Hacked machine Hello List I have a hacked machine and I have to reinstall this one tonight. Is it enought if I only macke a copy of my vpopmail/domains dir ?. thx Thrasher Cybernet (Schweiz) AG Hannes Widmer Junior System Engineer Cybernet Hostmaster Schaffhauserstrasse 560 Postfach CH-8052 Zuerich Tel. +41 (0)1 306'46'46 Fax. +41 (0)1 306'95'96 email [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.cybernet.ch

Would any of the more experienced members of the list be willing to write a short piece on doing a move (or backup/restore procedure) like this? Perhaps even including information on configuring the old server to forward mail to the new server in the case of a move? We could bounce it around on the vpopmail-devel list on SourceForge and then put it up on the Document Manager page of the SourceForge project. -- Tom Collins [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://sniffter.com/ - info on the Sniffter hand-held Network Tester
