RE: [vchkpw] vpopmail not creating dynamic library libvpopmail.so

2006-08-01 Thread Murray, Jason
If this is indeed the case what about the following dicussion I found from
2004?
http://www.mail-archive.com/vchkpw@inter7.com/msg16969.html

What every became of the discussed ability to (optionally) create a dynamic
libvpopmail?

Would the patch talked about in that thread apply cleanly to vpopmail 5.4.13?
Or is a better approach to figure out how to force courier-authlib to
statically link in libvpopmail.a?

Static linking does work. I am unsure why yours is failing.

Can you post the output of ls -al /var/vpopmail/lib

[vchkpw] vpopmail not creating dynamic library libvpopmail.so

2006-07-30 Thread Murray, Jason
Hello, I've been having a little trouble with the rebuild (do to HD failure) of
my qmail + vpopmail + courier-imap mail server.

What is looks like is that courier-authlib is not finding libvpopmail and hence
is failing to load authchkpw (the only authentication module I want since it is
the only one I use).

When I look in /var/vpopmail/lib all I see is libvpopmail.a

Apparently vpopmail is not building a dynamic library. I've checked the docs,
the FAQ and searched around, but can't find anything so I've come to the list
for help.

I'm using vpopmail 5.4.13. The build is basic, just followed the INSTALLATION
file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need more information just let me
know.
