It looks like things are configured correctly. The hostname is
vmguest-1. This won't match the name of the vmx and vmdk files. What
are the paths to the vmx and vmdk files being used by your VM?
The path to your vmx file should be:
/var/lib/vmware/Virtual

and
/var/lib/vmware/Virtual
