Assuming you have a way to access the console without SSH, try stopping all sshd processes and then start ext_sshd. Check which address it's listening on: netstat -l -n | grep ':22' You should see something like: tcp 0 0 IP address:22 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN If it's listening on the

Hello, I realize I worded the last message poorly. I meant to run ps to list the sshd processes so you could see the command that was used to start them. This would tell you whether or not the -f options was being used when ext_ssh was started. The problems you are seeing are mainly with

This is just an update. I have not committed the updated VMware code yet. I have been trying to find out if there is any way for VCL to manage the latest free version of ESXi. I don't think this will be possible. Once a free license code is entered and the host leaves evaluation mode, most

No, the management node must be able to login to the VM via SSH during capture. If this isn't working, then SSH also won't be working when the image is loaded and reservations will fail. The management node must be able to SSH into the loaded image to configure several things such as adding

VMware image repository path design

2010-06-08 Thread Andy Kurth
Issue VCL-224 deals with moving settings from vcld.conf to the database. One of the settings is the VMware image repository path: VMWARE_IMAGEREPOSITORY. The path used is actually hard-coded so this setting didn't make a difference, but it still should be configurable via a database setting.

Which version of VMware are you running on these blades? You could try to download and install the VMware vSphere Perl SDK on a host having this problem. I know vmkfstools gets installed when I install the SDK on a VMware Server 2.0 host. If this doesn't work you could try updating the host
