Hi, Robert,

Riny is working on the design document for vconsole after some ideas
verified by prototype. We will all a conference to discuss it. I would like
to ask you to join the discussion.

And, Riny,

When do you like to discuss ?

Thank you
  --Freeman

How is the design document going ?

RQ Yes, I posted BFU bits (based on onnv_37) and Xorg almost a month ago,
RQ see attached email. We fixed several issues, and now plan to upgrade
RQ to latest Solaris bits onnv_47 next week. After some testing, we'll
RQ also post it onto OpenSolaris.

Great!
I'll wait for 47.

Yes, it'll come out soon, probably next week. And any comment
will be welcome.

That's true. It's great to get more feedback from community during our
working.

 Hi.

I'm curious what is a current status for vconsoles? Unfortunately I do not
 understand a word here... :)

This project is going quite well, and it has the highest priority now.
In the 1st phase, the prototype can work well like Linux mode, and it
can switch with Xorg. We hope it can be available early next year.

You mean integrated into Nevada early next year or into Solaris 10?

LT So far, we consider Nevada only.

Are there any bits to Open Solaris to test something right now?

LT I don't think it's possible to do this right now although the
LT prototype is already opened for internal users.
LT There still are some issues in prototype and Xorg switching.
LT But I think it might be possible to make this feature accessible early
LT before the final integration.

I guess it would be great to make it available on OpenSolaris.org -
even in BFU or some other form. At the end you'll have better testing
and early user feedback.
