I checked into Marionnet and that is not what I am looking for. Wireshark can identify duplicate packets and noise on a network, but you sort of have to suspect something is wrong before running wireshark. I'm interested in something that would have very low overhead and just scan net traffic looking for faults of various kinds, (excessive dup packets, noise, etc.) and fire off a warning so that things can be tested further. I'm not sure if this is available or not.
