CALL FOR PAPERS



The uxTV 2008 conference brings together researchers and designers of
interactive user experiences for TV and Video to learn and share in an
academic conference. The Silicon Valley is home to top companies in new
video and television technologies. Outstanding invited speakers,
papers, tutorials, workshops, doctoral consortium talks and demos and
will make uxTV 2008 the premier conference for designers and
researchers in this field.

Submissions are invited on all aspects of interactive user experiences
for TV and Video.  This includes, but is not limited to:

- Whole home DVR

- The psychology of TV viewing

- New interactive TV applications

- The connected home and home media sharing

- Personalised Interactive TV

- Interactive storytelling, advertising, learning and e-commerce via TV
and Video

- Accessibility of Interactive TV and Video

- Broadcast and broadband video integration





SUBMISSIONS

We are currently inviting the following types of submissions:



- Long papers: Long papers of up to 10 pages on substantial research
results. Accepted papers will be published in ACM digital library.



- Short papers/posters: Short papers of up to 4 pages describing late-
breaking findings, work-in-progress and burning-issues. Accepted short
papers will published on the conference website and on the conference
DVD. Accepted short papers will have corresponding posters displayed at
the conference.



- Tutorial proposals: Tutorials provide an opportunity for more
experienced members of the uxTV community to share their knowledge in
2-hour classroom style sessions with up to 50 participants.



- Workshop proposals: Workshops provide an opportunity to discuss
specific uxTV topics in an informal atmosphere fostering collaboration
and exchange. Workshops can include up to 50 participants.



- Doctoral Consortium proposals: The Doctoral Consortium provides PhD
students with a forum for expressing their research interests,
comparing approaches with others and exploring ideas for the future of
television. The consortium provides an excellent opportunity to share
ideas, to connect with peers and to receive supportive feedback from
members of the television community.



- Demo proposals: We are interested in demonstrations of TV/Video
related products, prototypes or concept illustrations (in interactive
form preferred).
