   For a reason not to go in details too much here, I would like to make

   I have:

   r...@vdr:/dev/dvb# ls -l
   total 0
   drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 200 Mar 19 11:59 adapter0/

   drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 120 Mar 19 11:59 adapter7/
   r...@vdr:/dev/dvb#

   But vdr uses only the first two devices.

   Is there any easy possibility to patch the code accordingly?

   ./vdr -D 0 -D 1 -D 5 -D 6 -D 7

  I'm afraid this won't work, because VDR stops scaning for DVB devices
  as soon as it hits a gap.

  You might want to try changing this function:

  bool cDvbDevice::Initialize(void)
  {
int found = 0;
int i;
for (i = 0; i  MAXDVBDEVICES; i++) {
if (UseDevice(NextCardIndex())) {
   if (Probe(*cDvbName(DEV_DVB_FRONTEND, i))) {
  new cDvbDevice(i);
  found++;
  }
   else
  NextCardIndex(1); // skips this one === changed line
   }
else
   NextCardIndex(1); // skips this one
}
NextCardIndex(MAXDVBDEVICES - i); // skips the rest
if (found  0)
   isyslog(found %d video device%s, found, found  1 ? s : );
else
   isyslog(no DVB device found);
return found  0;
  }

  Untested, don't know if it will actually work as expected.

 I will test this and let you know.

 Thank you!

This seems not to work.

Does anybody have another idea?

Thank you.

I am still waiting for anyone to help on this. If you have a known working
 vdr2dvd.sh that works with projectX could you please make it available. Or
 if you have one that works with vdrsync I can use that too.
 Thank you in advance,

 Oops, i compared my hacked version with the wrong file.

 Here a diff against the original vdr2dvd.sh from vdrconvert-0.2.1

 My hack assumes that you are using ProjectX.

 Sorry for the confusion!

what is the primary language in your dvb stream? Is ist en(glish)? if it
is NOT de (german) then try to change in line 153:

 .  DVDUSESTREAMS=dpid1:ac3+de apid1:mp2 de

to

 .  DVDUSESTREAMS=dpid1:ac3+en apid1:mp2 en

or what ever the correct code of your language is.

Just a shot into the dark.

 Subject: [vdr] xine-lib-1.2-vdpau-yaepghd-window

 Before last weeks xine-lib-1.2 enhancement for yaepghd's preview window
 my
 vdr system worked flawlessly on both hd and non hd live tv channels.
 Since
 I
 upgraded to the most current xine-lib-1.2 patched for yaepghd's preview
 window I have many live tv playback errors. Xine's gui comes up and is
 complaining of my settings. What setting must I change in either
 vdr-xine-9.3 or xine's config to accomodate for the yaepghd's changes?

 Current xine/config settings different than default settings:

 video.processing.ffmpeg_choose_speed_over_accuracy:1

 video.processing.ffmpeg_pp_quality:0

 video.processing.ffmpeg_skip_loop_filter:all

 video.processing.ffmpeg_thread_count:2

 engine.buffers.video_num_buffers:1500

 engine.buffers.video_num_frames:30

 Thank you!

I can't help I'm afraid except to say that I couldn't get a usable
configuration either (onboard Nvidia 8300) so I've put it on hold for the
moment and gone back to xv. I tried xine-ui and xineliboutput with xinelib
1.1 and 1.2 and the latest, at the time, nvidia and xine-vdpau versions. I
might try again if I can get a 9xxx micro atx motherboard at a reasonable
price as people seem to have less problems with the higher end chipsets.

Sorry.
