It accesses the VDR data structures like any other VDR-plugin directly. It has thus some speed benefits. VDRAdmin-AM uses the SVDRP interface provided by VDR. Every action needs to be encoded as command and the commands output needs to be parsed and brought into a form suitable for the web frontend. Surely exist some feature differences between these two web frontends for VDR.
